GeraldM. Kilby, I've really enjoyed all the aspects of your books here. The tech, characters, the world's of the series. I've listen to a lot of books while working and since the introduction of the ads, it makes it so hard to listen to and maintain workflow. The ads just randomly drop in every 10 to 15 minutes, disrupting the storyreading. I believe you should totally take advantage of the ads so your work can be monetized and support a great author, but it's extremely frustrating. If the ads were timed at the chapter beginning/ end, or something like that, it would greatly improve the listening experience.
I have no critique on the writing or your art itself, in fact, I appreciate your mind and talent. But the ads placement and frequency severely interrupt the enjoyment. Cheers, and congrats on the viewership increase.

Andy Weir called, he wants his story back. To be fair Gerald only copied the starting this time. 6 astronauts living in a hab, a dust storm raging, communications with Earth lost. Everything going pear shaped. At least he didn’t call their ship The Hermes, no, he saved that name for use in Entanglement. The rest of the story is more original than the starting and is quite entertaining, although once again the choice of Deckard (or Decker) as the main protagonist's name had overtones of Blade Runner, especially given the way the character is described as moving (basically like Roy Batty. Oh, and what’s the name of the cute comedy sidekick, oh yes, Gizmo. At least he didn’t spawn any monsters!

Every time. I mean EVERY TIME!
So called highly trained astronauts completely disregard training, protocol and dumb common sense. They ALL enter a dangerous structure leaving no one on guard. Walk around Willy nilly picking up stuff and moving stuff. Then they ALL take off their helmets wander around touching plants and other objects. Utterly ignoring SOPs and quarantine protocols. And the story then follows an utterly predictable course.

Uff da. I am not going to get much further than Ch. 4.
Poor, stereotypical characters, weak dialog, no real science, breathless narration and I am ready to kick Decker in the ass due to the author, as well as how his dumb dialog is voiced. The whole effect is like a high-school senior project.

I personally don't care for these types of stories. Everyone trying to escape a mass murderer and some type of mutated one at that. And wondering who will mutate into a mass murderer next. Won't be reading the rest of the series.

The narrator has a nice voice and for a while it is fine but as the story develops her lack of any character definition makes it hard going and you start to zone out of the story because it's like one character is speaking all the time.

If a mission to Mars wanted to be successful it would set up at one of the polar ice caps where water ice has been detected. Not at the equater where the coriolis effect would have greater effect on the winds and sand storms.

Primal writing mared by juvenile profanity and clone life. 1995 Chicago Grateful Dead lightning strike 4 July dead on stage. No life apart from John 3: 16. Great Sci Fi as paradigm and profanity notwithstanding.

Rubbish story more like soap than science fiction. If that the best you can do for space fiction, it is better to change tack. Write. Try love stories what ever but leave space fiction out your no good at it.

Jan is one of the most thoroughly dislikable characters ever created. In her naive mercy she killed everyone. We’d be speaking German if she had been a decision maker in WW2. Jan is junk. Ripley rocks.

Absolutely superb!
One of the best sci-fi books I've ever read - realistic tech, engaging characters/dialogue and really nice pacing.
THANKS looking FW to the rest of the series!

The heroine is just pathetic. I get so tired of the hero or heroine stumbling to victory. That's not real life, real life, the idiot gets snuffed and that's the end of it.

The least trained person survived the whole ordeal. I guess that's normal. Good listen, moving on to the second one
Thanks so much for uploading it here

A beautiful book. Much discrete humour - the weed, the final. I especially like the social critique when comparing this book to The Martian.

If Paulio is coughing up blood, he has a punctured lung. If Paulio's broken leg is bleeding, the bone has pierced the muscles and flesh.

I just finished Colony 6 Mars (as well as Gizmo's short story) and I'm immediately starting the series over again. It was THAT good!

Well done. Just enough detail. Without an overload of details that do nothing for the storyline, which is what I see in some books.

Interesting book with great narration. The story was underwhelming and very linear akin to young adult fiction books.

This narrator has a broken up cadence like Captain Kirk. I got 15 minutes in and couldn’t take it anymore.
