A short film about a young robot with a defective part, trying to find their way in the world. Critical Component by Derek Frederickson There is no moral to the story, present, in this short film. Which means, it wasn't executed, by the Divinely Intended Recipients. It also, suggests, that those who worked on this project, have Rejected, the Higher Truths, Of God. This is the first time, that I have gotten to, actually, watch it, MySelf. My young righteous ones, shouldn't watch this one, anymore.

I'm a reader; I like good stories, be it in print-form or movie form. I like books better (when they're well written) because with books your own imagination is fed and needs to fill-in the blanks. Unless a visionary screenplay writer comes up with an original idea and the director is able to transform that screenplay into a coherent whole and the outcome is a comprehensible enitity on its own. That doesn't happen too often, because of, you know, circumstances. But in this case, the outcome is something to behold. It's not magnificently great, but at the same time, it has this je-ne-sais-quoi that makes the story stand out above a lot of other shorts. Well done.

What I can gather out of this story is, there is a robot (humanoid) factory. Robots have brain and they can fly. But, one of the robots do not have the confidence to fly. He finds out that the chip inside his head is faulty. So, he tries to steal it but that don't work. He is sitting in grief with his faulty chip and then an old robot arrives and boosts his confidence. He gets that and realizes it's because of his fear, he can't fly, not because of the chip. So, he gets the confidence and starts flying thereafter.

So glad to see this on here! Thank you everyone at Dust, and if you’re watching, please enjoy! One good thing about the pandemic, it gave each of us some time. In some of our cases, time to create. I am grateful for what I gave me time to work on, and has changed my life moving forward. Please let me know what you think!

This video was just fantastic! The detail in the animation is unreal, right down to the reflections in his skin ( armor hull. Particularly when dealing with a surface with compound curves and such. I liked the storyline, too. I hope his 2 escorts at the end are taking him in for repair and not jail. Thank you!

The direction and animation work for this presentation was terrific along with the audio but my problem was three gaping holes in the plot that were just missing to allow one to fully buy into the whole story. I mean I get the story and intent but without these elements the thing just doesn't make sense.

Always nice to see a Dust video that isn't depressing or disturbing. and it was even well-lit! Good job with the mannerisms, too -- I could always tell what emotions the robot was experiencing, despite his lack of facial expression.

Learning how to find the joy in how we’re made is a beautiful life lesson; translating that lesson through machinery drives home that being true to yourself is always applicable. I can’t wait to see more!

Elaborate little piece of work for such a little bit. sort of stunned me others took notice of a wondering lost robot amongst all robots.

I'm not so keen on robots these days, with the government making killer drones and all. The future will have no happy robots. Just a warning.

It's sad how the three robots killed themselves by flying into the sun. If only their meaningless existence wasn't so, meaningless.

Certain aspects are done really well. Keep honing your craft, creators. Looking forward to see what you can bring in the future!

A boring story with unimaginative and lazy character design.
