Dan Warner is a desaturator, tasked with sapping beauty from the world in a future where Color is used as energy. Prism by Jackson Miller Connect with the Filmmaker: Prism This is an exceptionally poor attempt at a reboot of Fahrenheit 451. Whilst the scenes are nicely futuristic and the CGI is not too bad, the acting is mediocre at best.
The premise of colour for energy is a joke! We are to now assume that all colour from the flora and fauna on the planet have been farmed, likely rendering more than 90% of all life forms to extinction. Untenable. What about the colour on the patches on the uniforms What about the colours on the weapons’ interfaces. What about the pigment in all humans, including skin and hair colour Why doesn’t everyone have grey eyes Why not hook everyone up, like in the Matrix, and extract the blue from un-oxygenated blood and the red from oxygenated
Sorry but as the premise of a storyline, this is a bit of a joke.

well
it sounds ridiculous
color has no energy, color is not a physical entity. It's how we call what our eyes interpret.
but _if_ information _is_ energy (the mass-energy-information equivalence proposal) it is reasonable to say that a pulse of white light that carries a _certain amount of energy_ is akin to noise (no information) while a pulse of _equal amount of energy_ but _pure red_ light has more information.
so there _may_ be some logic in this premise
haven't watched the vid yet, i'm not even at the 1minute mark.

My son is on the autism spectrum. This story touches strong with me. The world wants him to be something that he isn't. I'm ashamed to say that sometimes I've wished that too. But he a color, a rhythm, a path that's different from others. It's beautiful and scary to me all at once. This story reminds me not to stomp out that color. He is, and will always be, my beautiful baby boy! I love you, Clive.

Your primary premise was flawed to the point that I couldn't quite suspend enough disbelief to even relate to the subject matter. Sorry, but color as energy is just silly, since white light contains all color, and we can't see most of the colors around us. Insects, plants, and most animals, see colors we cannot. It just didn't work.

Believe me or not but that's exactly what living in a communist country was like. A world with no colors. Just shades of grey as far as the eye could see.
Even if I tried to explain what it was like to see communism fall and a country to change and gain colors - you wouldn't understand unless you've lived through it.

It's not about making energy from color; it's about total control of a population like Klaus Schwab and his WEF would have. If it were about having enough color to produce the desired amount of energy, it could be obtained from a renewable source such as cultivating enough flowers to do the trick.

I’m still confused the woman in the office entrance was terminated for being a stasher does that mean she didn’t pay her debts even though she had the lumens to do so or did she have any colour and off so does that mean that all luma corp employees have to relinquish all of their colour

A world whose industry is powered by color, leaving a colorless world. If we could all see so clearly the destruction of nature and life in our every decision as plainly as we see the lack of color in that world, we might be far more careful of our resources.

Dystopian society's only serve the rich and powerful and take away from the less privileged your film is a warning of the future to come or the present world thats already here very good short film excellent production dust delivers again

Interesting, but not quite futuristic. You can dream of, but there is nothing like technical monopoly depicted. In an ocean of human intelligence, technology is mere a drop of water.

Color=Constitutional Amendments =Rights. In this scenario it's freedom of expression and freedom of illegal search and seizure, but it could be any of your amendments.

Am I the only one that figured this story would take a dark turn and they would start to sacrifice people for their color Just a little bit of blood makes a LOT of color.

The MAN wants this place because of the law of the land here. The Constitution will hold. They whom wish it not to will be removed. There is no question.

I could tell that Dan guy was a good for nothing criminal right from the beginning. I hope he gets what he deserves for being such a punk-assed b!

Awesome concept, color energy. The only critique I have is the shallowness of the Lumicor executive but the point was made.

Amazed in how they always know how to control others even though themselves cant controll themselves. Hard to saturate this phrase

This is an old video. You are guilty of click bate by stating the date as 3 weeks ago. Why don't you make something new

What kind of dumb person devises a company like that. ABSORBING COLOURS INTO ENERGY AND MONEY THATS REALLY DUMB AND SUPER IDIOTIC
reply

Brilliant short, the whole color thing is very intriging and needs a back story it left me with wanting more, please.
reply

Why are all their visions of the future so blink, despotic, & hopeless. Technology advances as the spirits die.
reply

Excellently produced and acted. Could very well be the beginning of a longer story - one man against the system.
reply

Doesn't really make sense as white-light is not an absence of colour, instead it contains all the colours!
reply

Good actors and a good script. Though a bit on the nose with the 1984 little guy totalitarian thing.
reply

Would've been more clear to call it pigment collection, since white light from the sun is also color.

I wouldn't be surprised if Murky Dismal from Rainbow Land was CEO of LUMA CORP. Seems right up his alley.

Decent little film. Would have been nice if the artists who made this had consulted a physicist first.

These are the kinds of movies that SHOULD be in theaters! NOT the crap that's there now!

Like the film only thing I would of change is the sound effect. Of the paint can sounding gun

While this was all fine and dandy it's just a knock off, worse version of Fahrenheit 451.
reply

Wow, that was great! Intense story, and kind of shows us where the far left is taking us to.
reply

This premise is super familiar. A short story Something I've remember something like this.

Prism sounds an awful lot like prison. What an awful place this would be to live.
