I recently had the strangest dream. To many vivid details to list. Right before i woke me and three others escaped down a shaft deep into an enormous machine (I thought) and in the center where we landed there was a woman. She was so real, she emanated power, but she was incomplete (I can Still see it) and there was a man working on her. almost lovingly, but in a way that seemed liked worship. She was benevolent and exuded compassion for our mortal wounds and told me we would not die.
I asked her if she was ok and she said she was manifesting and I must return to inform all who would listen.
It was so vivid and surreal. I cannot get that image out of my mind. This happened before I ever heard of Sophia but the parallels are spooky.
I woke up in a trauma unit with no wounds. I refused pain meds and treatment so was immediately discharged. The next morning I went to the impound lot to retrieve my cell phone from my car and it truly seems impossible i was in that twisted mass of metal without a single wound.
This skit made me relive that night two years ago all over again.

Must admit that I have difficulty believing that Artificial Intelligence actually _understands_ the same way a human does - it's one thing to be able to emulate and replicate human thought and speech patterns but another entirely to fully comprehend the meaning of speech and thought. Human knowledge isn't just abstract data, it's also the sum total of firsthand subjective experience acquired over a lifetime as well as the social and cultural contexts that give _meaning_ to how we think and act. For example, AIs can read literature but are they capable of actually understanding it

Sophia is a complete scam. If you want to create a human like AI (which is currently impossible btw, gpt 3 is the best we've got and it's only pretending to know what it's talking about, creating a puppet to cram it into is the least of your problems. And they didn't even do a good job at that, she looks creepy af. And what is she supposed to run on That thing on her back couldn't hold a gtx 1050. Tensorflow on intel integrated!

THERE IS NO SUCH THING as A. I. not yet, anyway. Computers are fast, they can be intuitive, but their programming is STILL BASED ENTIRELY on the programmer’s code. There is NO sentience and NO spontaneous thought in a computer system.
All of a robot’s actions are still influenced in whole or in part by their coding. Even random actions are based on a set of defined parameters.

We as companies like WalMart are replacing cashciers with computers (self check outs), and other companies replacing workers with robots doing manuacturing, removing humans from jobs and replacing them with robots and computers. Our future is set in this path. Some Mc Donalds today have a self check out. We are populatinging more people than jobs will exist in 2020 and beyond!

A (very) quick look at the comments, I did not see anyone mention this but feels it has to be said. The acting in these shorts are more often than not quite palatable. But Evan Rachel Wood is clearly in a different league. When you curl away all the excitement, drama and effects like this, it highlights how good she really is.

Outstanding! This work has turned me on to getting the series. I grew up watching the original movies, the entire series, at a drive-in in the Detroit area. I love the premise of the movies, now I want to see what you’ve done with it. Thanks for sharing.
