Sci-Fi Short Film: Satori [Awakening] - DUST Exclusive

Your movie shows a complex thought world and has a very interesting premise. However, it has too much pathos (like a teenager movie, or a B series) and the facts are horribly placed together. If you want new civilizations arising, you need at least decades, if not centuries. If you want new species you have to justify them. If you make dragons you will need an explanation about how they evolved and why - and it will be hard. Very hard.
You seem to lack of skill in consistent worldbuilding. But you have creativity, good ideas. My advise is that you rapidly gather a community of nerds who like your premises, and then get from them as much advice as you can about what can justify the decisions you already took, and about which other details can fill up your world. And for Gods sake, leave this nonsense of Queen of Earth (who the hell needs queens in such an environment) or 2028. You must change a couple of things before you move further, or your would will only be suitable for children.

That I D 1 0 T man brought an expert but kept cutting her off, never letting her speak, perfect microcosm of the current situation in politics, IMO. Conservatives keep shouting down liberals who are warning about climate change and extreme measures needing to be taken, he kept shouting down her attempts to educate him. like with the tree, if he had shut the FUCH up for 30 seconds he would have found out that the weapon's fire was aimed exactly at that tree HE shot and when she got the big gun away from him and stands UNHARMED in front of the enemy what does he do He stands up BEHIND her and SHOOTS! The video was great except I kept wanting to shoot HIM every time he opened his idiotic mouth!

The leading lady was a perfect choice. There was something about her energy, determination, confidence, and resourcefulness. Her face/facial expressions generated a feeling that if I could envision what mother nature would look like in human form, she would be it. There was that undercurrent in her of kindness, warmth, and a motherly protective gentleness. She was perfect, perfect, perfect in every way!

While the work on this short film is great, many of the writing ideas had me going: Really, did you need to do that Was that necessary I predicted that. This is the sad commonality of most of the Dust short films. Too bad. It would have been nice to see an original SFF idea, instead of the standard tropes committed to film with mediocre acting to boot.

I really do wish some of these stories had a more realistic timeline. It was one thing with Star Trek, hoping we'd have several generations of intergalactic travel by like 2200, but come on now, we know 2028 is not going to be any different than 2022, for all intents and purposes. If anything, we're headed back in time.

Somebody needs to do some heavy editing on this piece. Maybe then it will be watchable. As it is, though, it is a mess.

I liked it and this could have been made a feature. My only gripe is the guy whispering and no captions. I had zero idea what he was saying. Sound Effects were too loud as well. Sad that happened. In short, human voices were muted and other effects were blaring.

Has everyone forgotten how to level audio Too many videos with whisper quiet dialog and deafening effects. Between that and your cliche story-line, and annoying, stereotypical characters, I had no desire to watch the whole thing. And it's only 17 MINUTES LONG.

Great job! I enjoyed this short a lot and I wish it was real, we deserve to be an endangered species for what we are doing to our planet. The only think I will correct is the dialogs would have need a bit more work. Can’t wait to 2028
