Incredible story, and even more relative today than ever. You don't know how powerful your actions are and no matter the extreme of how reality isn't making sense, you're still going with it's flow and you might as well do your best and put your best foot forward, because you could end up changing the world more than you even know. We're all Human, even the bad ones, but if we're not kind to one another, how can we even call ourselves Human-kind War games, just be nice, it's easier in the long run, just don't be a pushover. Early space crafts were something else, pioneers of our species sacrificing everything and all for the sake of progressing Human-kind.

This was superb, and.
Damn you. DAMN YOU. I appreciate a subverted trope as much as the next fan, but I wanted SO MUCH for that cosmonaut to be hanging by his parachute from a tree with Lucky barking up at him.
Perhaps that wouldn't have been as powerful as Sometimes Hope Isn't Enough, but oh my poor heart that felt so strongly for these two men connecting so tenuously and giving each other that hope. I wanted it to be okay.
I wanted it to be okay.
. and I loved it anyway.

What an incredible film. This could easily be a full feature length Oscar winning movie. 28 mins just wasn’t enough! The only thing I would have liked to have seen, was Hank going over to the wreckage and laying the cosmonaut to rest, or see him contact his family. Other than that - a beautiful film.
Also - the brief time jump situation - is that what that was Was this just fate’ giving Hank a chance to save him

To me it really feels the modern day ham OP was speaking to the casmonaut who was in the past As when he made it to crash site, it looked Old! No smoke, no nothing, just a Cold old debris field. There was a similar story an episode of DS9. Where the crew speak to a pilot but she was 3 years in the past and they try yi figure out just how the hell their signals met across time. It was Cool: )

this was absolutely a magnificent story, its been a while since i have been this impressed by a Dust upload. The story telling was excellent, the underlying themes were laid out well without being too obvious, the acting was genuine and i was caught up completely in what might happen next. this was a grandslam homerun that was also hit out of the park

Brilliant and harrowing story, neatly whispered and cleanly shown, very sober onto a very sensitive bond, between a man who lost his son and a man who was going to be missed. By the way, the music brought back memories of Cowboy Bebop, I bet it was an easter egg. One of my favourites from DUST!

That was incredble! Th emusic. The awesom theme of you can't change the past or take control of the uncontrolable. Its liek he hallcuinated a story to teach him that there's nothing he can do about his son, he can't contact the past, and even if he could contact the past, he can't change the present.

Been binge watching Dust videos the past 2 nights & out of the 10 or 12 I've seen all but 2 or 3 have an ending that didn't work out for the protagonist. i mean thats cool every once in a while but damn I would kinda like to see the good guys win instead of die every time

Wow everything is so riveting from start to end! Beautiful composition / camera work, great acting & writing, visual effects, all the right background music! And most importantly the unique way of story telling, that the simple story makes a great impact. Amazing piece!

Great film. Captured my interest, emotion and fascination from the first minute. When a film draws your empathy immediately. you know it is a quality production. Very well done. Respect to the script writer, actors and director.

I'm only 6 mins through at this guy is a total a-hole. There's a guy asking for assistance, and instead of helping, he's threatening the guy in trouble rather than rendering assistance. What an a-hole!

I’m confused how the orbit is supposed to work. How can he only be in range of Soviet radios for 15 minutes Is he supposed to be in geo sync Or is this more of a paranormal frequency style thing

Manly tears have been shed, bravo to the cast and crew who made this story a reality.
A man who lost everyone trying to help a man who wanted to come home, still crying while typing this.

This is what ham radio is about. Loved it! However, not totally accurate, but the idea is there. 18035 KHz is for CW, but I get it. Also, don't place tubes on live equipment!

Blind Willie Johnson's 'Dark is the Night' from 1927 is legendary Blues! Love that song! This is epic storytelling! I had hoped Hank would save him and he would bring Andre home.

That was the worst phoney crash site at the beginning. The amazing coincidence that a random fuse from a soviet piece of euipment that fell out of the sky fits Hank's ham radio unit.

Just watched this 10th July 23.
I agree, this need to be feature length! Tops anything I’ve watched in the past years (including most marvel etc) great work!

When I was young I used to tweak the tv antenna just right and it would be a little fuzzy but I could still make it out perfectly. Wow! It changed my life.

The rentry seuence is nonsense. An old man in the woods who has never seen the inside of a soviet spacecraft but instructing the cosmonaut what to do. nonsense.

I've seen something else like this where it's basically a little girl saying goodbye to a spaceman as he slowly drifts too far away to ever be heard again

So it's like a time difference between them The time on earth is in the future, while the guy in space is in the past And they somehow communicated

Great video! It left me wanting in a very optimistic way. It could've had multiple endings and all of those are on the path of hope.

Interesting. Dark Was the Night. I watched my very stoic friend cry to that song while telling me about his brother who died.
