It seems like a script an alien wrote, whose only experience of human culture was watching '80s mascot-buddy movies. A boy and his alien, a boy and his robot, a boy and some sort of killer cyborg from the future. Wooden isn't even the word. I keep thinking there's going to be a twist and it's a parody or something. _Terrible_ writing and acting. And normally Dust is so good! Very poor.
A better ending would be some piece of dirt falling out of the robot's head, and it immediately resumes it's program and kills the kid in one blow. At least it would show some characterisation, some comprehensible motive.

This was 12 minutes too long. Not enough coverage. Shorter film would've gotten more out of the actors. Needs more close-ups and medium shots. Too many wide/long shots in this for a character story. Could've been an easy read if the story was mostly boy and robot. Overly ambitious with this. Treating it like a sci-fi epic that ran out of money, rather than a short film. If this were revisited. Make it shorter, vary those camera angles. More POV shots. Hook-ups are off. Too many of these shots don't hook-up. Get better coverage, better planning.

Does anyone remember short animated movie where a scientist demonstrates mind control gun on a prisoner. He shoots a prisoner, moves him with joystick into some small building and blows him up.

sorry, did I miss something. what was the point seeing what looked like spray coming up I assume he got to the boat, but there seemed to be a big jump. who was piloting the boat why did the camera look back to see the airship in the sky

Thoroughly enjoyed this story, and done with no effects apart from the robots armour. Reminds me a bit of a story I read years ago about self aware robots after a war. Good stuff, hope you do some more! :-)

The story reminds me of some anime I have watched, boy and robot friendship. Very few live action films match anime in terms of story telling when robots and kids are involved. This was superb.

A lot of interesting elements, but not much of a story. The boy was poorly cast. The best actor was the first human bad guy.
