I have my own Game Boy I also like to play Pokemon on, earlier I made it to Lavender town. The 1989 Nintendo Game Boy I have might be showing signs of aging, but it works like a charm, other than the contrast wheel being extremely sensitive so even the slightest turn will change the contrast quite a bit. Also Nintendo actually started with the Game & Watch.

Ahhh Gameboy. Some students used -other means- to cope with college back in the 80s. Me, I would pull out the Nintendo Gameboy and after a few hours of Tetris, I could easily focus and work on my Calculus II and COBOL projects.---

Correction:
The first backlit version of the legendary Game Boy was the Game Boy Light,a slightly bigger Game Boy Pocket, released in '98 only in Japan.

I remember owning the original Game Boy (in the mid to late 90s). Now I am playing the Switch. I can-t even believe how far we have gone.

I know this video is old but Nintendo using carts is far better than Discs as modern Cartridges will last for a VARRRRRRRY long time.

-the switch has a backlight, something the gameboy didn't get until 2003 with the SP-
Gameboy Light -Am I a joke to you?-

Fun fact: The SNES was the first console to introduce x and y buttons but they were taking it out when one Console was released
