Why cyberpunk 2077's smaller map is actually a good thing

Cyberpunk 2077's developers have gone on record saying their open world is a bit smaller, but ultimately denser. Here's why we think that's great news LidiaLeeSun: it is really weird because when Skyrim went public everyone was saying how big map it has and yes it does and when Witcher 3 went public everyone compared it with Skyrim the result was that indeed the map size was smaller. No one commented then that in Skyrim to enter each building you must wait a loading screen compare with Witcher 3 in which you can enter any building in Novigrad without any loading screens. So what really matters is how big a map it is? or how dense with quests and life it is?

Its just going to be like skyrims dungeons for each building . i know they are trying to make it sound bigger because of the buildings but your going to get sick of being stuck in a building, believe me and i think that will be the downfall of this game. people love being outside in the games and seeing the landscape from afar and trying to reach it

Why so much worried videos about the map size? We are talking about CD Projekt Red, doesn't even have to be worried, the size doesn't matter, just look at RDR2 such a nice game with a really big map full of nothing, which is not a bad thing because of the context of the game. This can be smaller but way WAY vertically interactive.

Well,this didn-t age well isn-t it...
Mathematically speaking i can swear that this game-s map is bigger than Skellige,Velen and Toussaint put together.Although it-s very empty and nowhere as dense as CDPR claimed it to be.
City alone is like 5.5km from one side to other. This is much longer than Velen map from Witcher 3.

I know people really don't think about this alot, but It maybe a smaller map. What are we getting vertically? Is there more we can do inside buildings than just to enter store fronts? I know some of the missions we've seen. Go through apartment areas, but are those just for those missions? Hmmm....

I just want an evolving world, like how Dragon Age 2 had world stages and your decisions would affect how the next stage looked and played out.
Of course that's way WAY too much to ask for a dense open world title, but I just want to see it overall become more popular.

Witcher was not that big but it was filled with annoying loot locations to fill it out. I don't mind a smaller map hell, I prefer smaller maps because I hate the forced open worlds with collectables. Gets boring fast and Ubisoft does it a lot.

their world is smaller but denser? what about physics? I don't see any physics reflected in the videos so far when driving cars, which is the most important part of a game like this, if you don't get the physics right, then a boring game

It-s really small, not dense, not immersive
This is not acceptable. I don-t think they-ll be able to fix everything they promised. This is just like no man-s sky but worse because they hyped it even more.

this video could've been litterly 10 seconds: -Cyberpunk 2077's developers have gone on record saying their open world is a bit smaller, but ultimately denser. We think that's great news.- the end.
