10 video game stories that suddenly changed
video description
!!!-spoiler-!!!
middle earth: shadow of mordor: You think your a bad to the bone action hero murdering every orc then all of the sudden YOU'RE TAKING CONTROL OF THEIR MINDS AND PITTING THEM AGAINST EACH OTHER!
the other one is boneworks. you think you're the good guy fighting against zombies and scientist hologram guys with guns that are most definitally not a hologram in a simulation to save said simulation from being destroyed forever. but if you dive into the lore you realize you're actually the bad guy stopping everyone acess to said simulation to gain the key to immortality while at the same time screwing humanity over by releasing a onslaught of FNAF rejects onto everybody's electronics which also allows them to gain physical matter. if you want to learn more watch the game theorist's 3 videos covering duck season and boneworks because their stories intertwine.
edit: oh it meant continuity errors, gotcha. still fits the question tho

The heartless have always been described as the stolen hearts of people who fell to fear and darkness since the first game (reason being they were gathering hearts to reach/summon the kingdom of hearts) in the second you see whats created once -you lose your heart-, the creation of nobodies (empty carcases). In the games theres many documents explaining everything, although it does get kind of tedious. And the organization XIII aren't all versions of xenahort... only one is, Roxas for example is Sora's nobody (of when he briefly became a heartless) like Axel is the one of Lea...

Continuity is one of the most satisfying things in the world of media imo. Sometimes it doesn't matter if it isn't a story driven game, assassin's creed is my personal winner, I was really invested in the story up untill assassin's creed 3 and even blackflags. What they did in blackflags in modern day, is what caused me to stop playing these games. Now they're entirely different games I don't recognise anymore, idc what you say. The new ones since origins, are not assassin's creed. Also bring back that goddamn perfect MP from brotherhood

Blizzard straight up said that the primary reason they gave the Horde blood elves was they wanted Horde players to have a -pretty race-, since the Alliance had the -pretty races- in the night elves and humans, while the Horde races were ugly and hard on the eyes.
Even recently they-ve said that when adding a new playable race to WoW gameplay comes first, story comes second. They try to find a way for it to make sense in the story, but most of all they want the races to be fun to play and cool to look at.

I havent played the other Mass effect games, but i did Andromeda, and i liked it.
The whole idea is in a different galaxy, people are trying to find another earth. Id like the next game to be multiplayer, and work more on building communities on the different planets, showing the cities thrive and grow. I know it touches upon that in the game, but id like to see the settlers slowly trust the other races. Then maybe work on growing a family.

Diablo being on this list couldn-t be more incorrect. Nothing changed. The end cutscene shows the warrior shoving the soulstone in their forehead, no matter which class you play. The second game explains the story of the first. It just takes until the third game to give the warrior a name. The rogue became the blood raven in act 1 of D2 and the sorcerer becomes the summoner in act 2 in D2.

The biggest change in the assassins creed series has been the gameplay. Idk about y-all but I miss the button mashing easy combat I played the game because I felt like a badass assassin that could take on waves of enemies single-handedly- miss those days now it-s all about grinding to get the legendary weapons just so you have a chance

About Assassin's Creed, I would also add that the story, from the 1st one to Syndicate, always was the Creed vs. Templars thing. Then came Origins and now we have this -Order of the Ancients- that predates the Templars and (at least in Origins) really came out of nowhere.

As a matter of fact Todd Howard indeed wanted Oblivion to be more generic fantasy like. The world was in a mild fantasy craze after the Lord of the Rings saga finished, so they wanted to double down on this, according to an intervierw with some of the developers.

It was disliked because it was mis understood - mass effect extended ending just continues the same mis understood ending which is by no dispute, an indoctrinated hallucination scene. Everything after the reaper beam is in Shepard-s mind
