Every so often, we like to complain about stuff that bothers us in modern games. From pointless grinds to microtransactions, here are recent gaming trends that need to stop

-F2P- online games are always like... funny to me; servers are expensive, even at a small scale... you'll be paying 40-50/month just for a single instance capable of hosting a sizeable DB and have enough compute to handle a decent enough load. Scale that out to millions, and you can quickly see there needs to exist a monetization mechanism.
The business goal of the F2P model is to entrap customers, and get them to do that -first- purchase; offer a small $14.99 / $29.99 / $49.99+ -founders- pack and you immediately pull the customer into the store under the guise of free-to-play.
In short, no such thing as a F2P game; doesn't exist... you either get a demo where most of the features are locked behind the paywall or you get a horribly designed experience that heavily encourages you to buy the QoL goods.
Path of Exile is a prime example of F2P like this, you could technically have a few characters or be seasonal only and have a good time but if you tried to be a bit more competitive you'll need to drop some $$$'s on specialized tabs and feature unlocks.

Gw2 (Guild Wars 2) is a perfect example they started out with the idea was
No Trinity because people should be able to play what class they want when they want and no need for wait in dungeons because there is not need for tank or healer because ever one can heal and the boss have a random taunt protocol.
Now the wait and lfg is 10 times worse then most games because not only do they have the healer and dps class but they also have support class that give boons and that can do things others can't. so at times there are 4 or 5 class skills that might be needed which may only come from 1 or 2 class of which you might not have or like to play so now your stuck waiting or can't join the party.

As someone who-s become an adult with very little time for gaming these days, I rarely, if ever, play multiplayer games anymore. Because this entirely list was geared mostly at multiplayer gamers. All my friends and I now barely play games, what with people starting families now. These game companies are most certainly greedy as hell these days and are a huge reason why my friends and I just avoid multiplayer games period. It-s not to say single player games are completely safe from lists like these, but 98% of complaints like these come from multiplayer gamers and I feel so sorry for how the gaming industry thinks how dumb you all are smh.

I genuinely appreciated this. These money-grubbing developers are all about content for profit (and not necessarily good content). I play Kiss Of War, but I honestly find myself caring less and less for every new event that ultimately leads to the same repetitive activity no matter what kind of new spin they attempt to portray. I probably only play about 90% of the game as is...and the rest is not worth wallet lint, much less my hard earned cash!

I waited 2 years to play CP2077 (for the ps5 release) after dipping my toes in at release and it was worth it. I don't think that game should of even been released on last gen. However, they worked hard on it, i think. I thoroughly enjoyed it, the side stuff was great too (not gigs tho, altho some of those were fun too) but yeesh was the main story great. Hope they fix it a tiny bit more so everyone can have the experience. Loved it so much.

Grounded you have about 4 hours of play than you did everything.they are still releasing it. TABS was one when it first came out but is getting better. FIRE EMBLEM FATES AND THREE HOUSES. Months after fates release there suddenly is another path to choose for an ending. I was in the middle of three houses after I chose golden deer and post time skip. Suddenly there is another house and I can't recruit since I'm past time skip

I hate to my very soul games that have pay to win status like warface and and call of duty warzone like warface is like you want to be good you want to have fun spend 20 dollars and be the best player and warzone you need to have all the games to have most of the really good stuff at the start or spend 70+ dollars for this dlc or play for 200+ hours just to get one item you want maybe you will get

It-s annoying and misleading when free-to-play games give you a bunch of awards and currency early and you spend it assuming the flow of currency will keep coming, but then it dries up after a few days of playing and the only way to get more is by paying. I know this is by design and I know I can just stop playing, but it doesn-t make it any less annoying or nefarious.

iv been saying this since magic arena came out. if you pay for mastery or battle pass if you don't complete it you should get all the rewards you didn't unlock at the end of the month/expires, it should be that if you want them sooner you should grind for them but you should ultimately get them weather you unlocked them or not as you have already payed for them.

The fact that so many people are willing to excuse terrible launches really pisses me off. I refuse to buy a game at launch any more because of the BS I-ve seen in the last 8 years. It would be one thing if there was a bug here or there, but when games come out completely broken and rake in millions, it-s just unacceptable.
