10 open world game concepts that make no sense
video description
However, from a players, game play, or even system resourcing/balancing point of view, you can overcrowd your world, and make it almost impossible to navigate around by making it too real. I know game studios have dozens, if not hundreds of developers that can balance the world a lot better, but still there is a reason open-world games look better from afar than up close.
You can also confuse the crap out of players, you know how all easily climbing spots in game have that certain colour, to make it stand out. Usually a yellow or orange colour. It triggers you to remember that is a climbing spot, but they are every where and they all look they same, which makes you wonder. Why can't game designers change them up a bit. I tried that, and I even confused myself on where to go, on some of the very maps I had designed, created and built myself :/

I love the way Dying Light 2 did the map unlocking. You unfog your map by just going there, and you unlock locations on your map by either stumbling upon them firsthand while exploring, or spotting them through your binoculars.
It's cool because it gives you the same motivation as the tower climbs, but more freedom. I don't have to climb a series of specific towers to unlock the stuff around them, I can just see something tall, and have the drive myself to see if I can spot anything from the top. Or everytime a mission or side activity ends up taking you somewhere high up, and can whip your binoculars out and usually spot something new from that viewpoint.

RDR2 is really good at not feeling like you suddenly transition to another biome. Its usually just over a bridge or around a cliff and bam... swamp or desert... but they did a good job blending the edges.
To be fair, you can ride across whats supposed to be the Carolinas across the Great Plains and all the way to California in about 15 minutes. But it feels like a long way. Same with GTA 5... it seems like such a pain to go from the city all the way up around the mountains to the north coast... but it takes 5 minutes. It takes 3 times that just for me to get to the highway from my home IRL lol.

I just wanted to point in farcry 6 your outpost do get attack and can be taken over again but I believe that features is after you beat the main storyline and new dawn does allow the option for your outpost to get re taken but not quit the same. And in saints row games your territory can be attack but that-s not the same as an outpost but I thought it was cool that they would try and re claim their streets. But as always I love your videos keep them up

Concerning the -Tower reveal- i was thankful that Watch Dogs, the sister series to Assassins Creed, had a completely legitimate reason for why you could see everything in the area. Because Blume records and analyzes everything through cameras, speakers, or what have you, Illegally. When you tap into that tower you now know what they know.

GOod call on many of these. One that I just thought of is the fact that you drive constantly without ever having to stop for gas. It's as if you get a bottomless gas tank with every car you purchase or steal. Granted, it would make the game much harder and more complicated if there was a gas tank, but it is obviously quite unrealistic.

For just cause 2 you don't even need to use the grappling hook to save your self from a fall, opening your parachute right before you hit the ground will do the same.

I think i heard somewhere that the reason pedestrians don't jump out of the way is because they patented that for Crazy Taxi...
I think i also heard that patent ran out.
