Everyone please just heavily temper expectations for the day before. Their developer has a horrible track record with making crap games and then just abandoning them. They are also looking for volunteer work for the game which is just insane because it means they re running low on funds which how could that be happening? If the game really looked like that they could get funding in a heartbeat. What this is telling me is that we have another watch dogs on our hands and not one that s made by Ubisoft so it ll at least be a decent game. They took what they wanted to be a gameplay trailer and what they wanted to show and then made that look as good as possible when the rest of the game is nowhere near that. This one isn t going to be good and honestly that s too bad because it s the number one wish listed game on steam. But there is a reason they don t have funding.

You know what, I don't care. I'm tired of AAA game companies focusing on amazing graphics and how many microtransactions can they make. Games just aren't the same anymore, all the gameplay is shallow and largely turning into the same genre. Open world, with light rpg elements.
Indie games are where it's at these days. Just look back to the early 2010s, every year they had multiple banger AAA games. It was a competition to see what would be GOTY. Now it's hard to even find a GOTY that's not indie. Like freaking It Takes Two got GOTY last year. A shallow repetitive platformer.

I feel graphics are great these days but honestly they've been great for years now. The last time I was blown away was COD Modern Warfare back in 2019. Yeah the ray tracing stuff is nice when you stop and stare at things but when actually playing a game its the animations, level of detail, and lighting that makes games feels next level. I'm sure well get some UE5 bangers but if we're barely running games at 30fps again like in the Matrix demo Im already zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Graphics have ruined gaming. Because of graphics we need more money to make games AND more time in turn. Which means more monetization, higher price on games, and DLCs. Also the gameplay always takes a nose dive in favor of graphics. Just look at RDR2 and TW3. Garbage games but they look good. That's about it though. We need more gameplay > graphics games today than ever. F y'all for defending corporations and demanding more graphics. YOU are the problem.

A lot of people say this level of graphics will make gameplay and story bad. I thinks with UE5 it's the opposite. It has made making this good graphics easy, and a lot less time consuming. So they potentially could make really good graphics with really good gameplay in less time. Also, it's going to make looking good so mundane that they can't rely solely on good graphics to sell their games and they have to do something special to stand out.

I will say, even with graphics improving, I hope we still stick to creative aesthetics here and there and not just realism. I greatly enjoy shooters and racing sims, however indie developers have made some of the most beautiful and fun games I have ever played in my some 20 years of gaming. I'd like to see that carry on with fidelity into the next generation of UHD gaming. UE5 looks great for bringing tons of life into smaller projects.

RedFall is going to depend on how serious the game takes itself and the direction they go with monetization. So many great concepts flopped due no actual care maintaining the image created, the game not being mature enough to captivate the audience able to keep the game going or strait up greed devouring all the fun and content making it a status symbol for rich kids. I hate gaming and that game sits on a very thin line for me.

Why can you see the boom mic in The Invincible? If it s an first person view does the character have eyes in their mouth or are they wearing it wrong?
If you want to laugh next time you use a headset with a boom mic look straight ahead and move the mic until it s in your field of view like in the preview then look at yourself in the mirror.

I hope that destructible environments is gonna be more of a thing where it can be applied. I remember back when Gears 3 was announced they were saying you were gonna be able to blow up walls to get to opponents on the other side and that would've been awesome but they didn't implement it into the game. I was super disappointed.

The Day Before is almost guaranteed to be a mega disappointment. A cross between Last of Us, days gone and whatever else. by a small group of developers that have never succeeded, and are looking for volunteers to make the game. Yeah, I think I have a better chance of sleeping with Jessica Alba than this game being good.

Do games on Unreal Engine (UE) 5 require a significantly more powerful computer relative to recent games in UE4?
Obviously most new games need more power than older ones due to exponential growth, but do these graphics mean you need 6 4090ti's or is the difference par for the upgrade?

I don't know. the first Senua had a fair bit of gameplay itself! The moment when you _finally_ earned the magic sword was one of the most empowering moments in recent gaming in my opinion. A real turning of the tables on enemies who up until then had been blisteringly difficult to cope with.

I'm really looking forward to Hogwarts Legacy the most beautiful looking Harry Potter open world game we'll be getting to date and I remember playing the past variants I am so glad and thankful to whoever came up with Unreal Engine 5 without it games wouldn't be what they are today

I am not going to lie it seems like so many games now want to be the prettiest things out there BUT they lack substance I would rather play a game from 20 years ago that's good but hasn't aged the best visual than a game that comes out with today's graphics and zero substance
