This series made it clear after Defiance that there would be a sequel . But a story , a game , a character without the original voice actors who played Kain and Raziel or the Elder God etc. -
The story would be empty-
UNLESS IF they've found replacements that were as good and perhaps even better than the old ones-
Buuuuuuuut still. The things and performance that the older voice actors did , was an outstanding work of art. Giving color and life to their game characters through their voices -
In any case , this is a very debatible matter for fans who have discussed for the past 2 decades-
For now it would be for the best , if , the company could create a remake or remaster of these game

A lot of potential for this series, unrealized because of corporate politics, game studio business-as-usual, and lag (taking too long to pounce on sequels). Honestly, with engines like Unity and UE4 and all the tools available, now, I could see some fans getting together, in a basement, and hashing out a spiritual successor.
The dark, gritty world of Nosgoth could really resonate with modern audiences, barring the preachiness of current titles. Actually, a dark, irreverant game like LoK might just go off like gangbusters, in much the same way that Doom did, if one sticks to what made it great: plot/story, platforming/puzzles, and violence. You can't remake a world, without making a few corpses. ;-)

internet was out for the whole weekend, so I just played Legacy of Kain 2 on an emulator..... FOR 5 HOURS. Still a GREAT game along with the Soul Reaver games. I really hope they bring these games back. I love the characters of these games, they were so well done. I kind of swept all the plot issues to the side because these 2 characters are so damn cool to play as. The side characters were pretty good as well.

All they had to do is add Kain into the Trailer.
They want brand Recognition, they should have the Previous characters do cameos.
Maybe have an evil human that has Kain's Body under their control. Probably show a Trailer of Ariel getting put into suspended animation after a long hard battle with the mind-controlled Kain.
Probably port the old games before the release of the new game.

was a great series of games I actually started with soul reaver and then the original I think nosgoth really didn't get the advertising it deserved and I found that game a little late kinda sad to buy when the servers went down and it wasn't exactly the experience of the other games - really miss these games and the world we experienced, would be nice to see somthing rise from the ashes

They just need to upgrade and remaster the story but also remaster the story and add a lot more characters and characters to play which would make it more interesting from different points of view I have played all of them and a big fan always but they can do it and I believe if they do it will do amazing especially with new characters and back grounds to plays as thank you and be safe

how can you come to the conclusion that -the vibe was off- as the reason that this series died? In your own video essay, you outline how the major developers left the project, how the IP passed hands as the studios were passed around, and how ultimately it was abandoned because of financial concerns. Bro, the vibe?? nothing about your video essay suggested the game's vibe was off.

I loved these games so much, they wouldn't hold up now but that doesn't mean they shouldn't try to bring the series back now that vampires are popular again just look at Vampyr or Vampire The Masquerade, I think an open world Blood Omen game where you play as Kain and your decisions effect the world and the outcome could be just what we need right now in gaming.

We all have to remember there were limitations to the older consoles. The cameras made doing some of the puzzles impossible, almost half the game was scrapped due to time, budget, memory constraints, etc.. Today's technology, the story could be told in detail, better Boss fights, increased movement, and the story could be told in its entirety.

This series deserves either a remaster or a follow-up/light reboot. Still want it to stick to it's roots, it's renowned for it's stellar voice acting and well thought out story and characters. It's a masterpiece.
I'm assuming nasgoth left a bad taste for those wanting more of the same, which was expected..
