10 video game changes fans absolutely hated
video description
Most people hate change. I'm not one of them. I'm always interested in different takes from the standard. (I think most people that write or have written fanfiction are) So things being different doesn't bother me. What matters to me is if the product is good and enjoyable or not.
That's why I always thought that the people who held the position that it would be a good game if it just had a different name/wasn't called Devil May Cry were all just goofy as hell to me. Because a great game is a great game, no matter the name of it. What that was, in my eyes, was a cop-out from admitting how much they enjoyed the game. Like enjoying one incarnation means that they no longer like the original. When that's obviously not true at all.
That game was DOPE, and I STILL would like the sequel to be made. Because I would love to see how this version of their story ends.

What you said about the protagonist in the Third Birthday acting like a completely different character is also one of the problems people have with Metroid Other M (which I'm surprised was at number 6 on this list instead of somewhere closer to number 1 if not number 1 itself); in Metroid Other M, Samus is also extremely whiny, and somehow still shaken and traumatized by Ridley's appearance even though canonically speaking she's fought him like about 5 times already by that point. The creator had access to material that could've given him a better idea of how Samus could be more expressive of her character while staying true to said character fans know and love; that material being the Metroid manga; but he didn't take a look at that, he just did his own thing, and Samus suffered for it, as did the whole series. Why do you think we didn't get a new Metroid game for so long after that? That's honestly why I, and any real Metroid fan doesn't consider Other M canon, even if the creator does.

I actually really liked The Bureau. Yeah is just a cover shooter, but it has a pause mode to give skill and positioning orders to your squad. And your personal skill tree is very support oriented. So it ends up still feeling like a strategy game. And there is a decent variety of aliens too, a lot from the better known xcom games, but some originals like the goo things are there too.
The base building was gutted, but you still recruited and leveled guys and had to research new tech.
The story even took an interesting turn for the end. Overall I had a great time. I think you just need to play it for a bit before it shows its full potential.

Question: Why didn't they make the Devil May Cry Reboot not a reboot but a spin off with a new character instead? I don't know. make dark haired Donte the real Dante's nephew and Virgil's son or something. I mean seriously. give the promise of a real appearance by Dante to assist his wayward, abandoned nephew and the game might have been accepted better. given Donte as a character a better motivation to be the A-Hole he is in the game with the chance of a redemption that turns him into a more likeable character guided by his Uncle Dante. I mean maybe it's still not too late to retcon that with a Donte May Cry remake?

Without question, DMC lost any goodwill with me after its release. While I loved the games I played (1, 3 and 4, it felt like a kick in the nuts to see everything I worked so hard to see happen across two console generations get swept under the rug in favor of a more childish rendition that had practically nothing in common with its predecessor. By the time of Devil May Cry 5's release, my emotional connection to the series has been just about flattened, and even if I did want to play it, I really don't have the time for it anymore, time I would've had had they never created DMC in the first place.

People still on with the DMC thing? Team Ninja didn't in any way make fun of the fan base or the original Devil May Cry games/protagonist with the wig joke, it was basically just a nod and a little Easter egg/ innocent joke. Gamers really are the biggest cry babies of all consumers. Apart from that the game was solid, art direction was fresh but it had worse combat, lacked lock on at launch, and had a shitty Dante, but nothing close to what the but hurt fan base cried about. Ps: played every single DMC game out there, just don't care about the whining

The reason why DmC was made with Ninja Theory was because the Director, Hideaki Itsuno, wasn't happy making DMC4. You know the Dante missions in DMC4 where they just made him play the mission backwards? That's why. He had plans for Dante with new levels but Capcom said no because it would take too long. So he decided to make DmC with Ninja Theory after DMC4. And of course, when DmC failed and he announced a DmC2, Capcom went back to him and said Please make DMC5. We will make you do what you want. Just don't make DmC2 with Ninja Theory again.

I would say dying light 2. They just made everything pretty much bad. The change with grapple hook sucked. The jump over zombies barely works and when it does it s not as smooth as the one from the first game & the fact that you have to block just to kick sucks ass. The first dying light had better mechanics compared to the second one. Ik some ppl like the new grapple hook but in all honesty it sucks. I rather have the first one which allows you to feel like spider man in a zombie game

The main reason Tony Hawk Ride failed is Activision giving that job to the wrong team. Robomodo were clearly very incompetent, and that s mainly the cause of failure to Tony Hawk Ride, THPS5, and Tony Hawk Shred (a sequel to Tony Hawk Ride that sold even more poorly.
As for the 1+2 remake, its success was mainly because it was developed by Vicarious Visions, who are clearly much better at making games, especially when it comes to remakes (looking back at the Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy.

I own pretty much every Dynasty Warriors, Samurai, and Orochi title. I'm weird, I know. 9 was almost as terrible as 6 was. They can't just leave characters alone. They insist on ruining lesser popular characters by giving them a completely different weapon/moveset while leaving their overrated golden boys alone. Might not seem as serious, but I think fighting game people would be pretty pissed if their game/mains changed movesets for established characters throughout the series.

From what I remember from old interviews, the guys behind Silent Hill Homecoming were forced to use elements from the Silent Hill film. They didn't want Pyramid Head in the game to begin with but their hands were tied. Honestly, I think Homecoming gets too much crap. It's a pretty fun game, with an interesting enough story and a great protagonist - it's always a treat to hear Brian Bloom. He was also amazing as Dragon Age's Varric and Wolfenstein's Blazkowicz.

I feel crazy for loving the Devil May cry remake as much as I do. I loved the story, I loved the combat, I loved the dialogue more than any other devil may cry game oddly. I even enjoyed the platforming, and I hate platforming games. To everybody I have talk to you about this, maybe two people have agreed.
And number five was kind of a disappointment, and it was really, for me, the terrible lock on system. Still a decent game though.

I actually like DmC, it was something new and fresh to the series. Sure DMC 4 and 5 was a great experience yet, both games are just an improvement to the previous games which is fine. Yet, DmC? The game offered you something new and fresh to the franchise, sure it's not going to be for everyone but i'm glad if people have a good experience with that game.

i can understand why they changed dantes appeareance to be honest. from a marketing standpoint it makes sense at first. the appearance of the average male changed over the years to something more like the remake dante.
but they totally underestimated how much the original dante was loved by the fans.
i pesonally liked the remake more tbh.

I never hated dmc. I thought it was interesting to see young Dante and wanted to see more and how he turned into the demon slayer we know but I guess we won t have that. Dmc5 was lazy and less interesting fans rather have that than a reboot which is sad af. The only good thing about dmc5 is the nostalgia of original Dante
