10 Lost & Cut Content From Games Discovered By Fans Austin: Guild Wars 2: there's several maps that contain the relics of beta areas that were intended to be some kind of mini dungeon or jumping puzzle or something. The most famous is in the Sylvari Starting Map called the Caledon Forest. It's possible to get into an elaborate tunnel system under the map where you can find two different jumping puzzles connected together and somehow they have a connection to nearby asura lab (also unfinished) that was modeled after Cerebro from X-men. some elements of the jumping puzzles, like the holographic platforms and buttons, still work and up until 2017 there was an accessible tunnel to the playable area of the map that players could trick into and just walk into the puzzle like any other. it was clearly cut at the last minute because they ran out of time.

For shame that Niflheim was cut in FFXV as they went back and expanded upon Insomnia, allowing you to now drive through it instead of only traversing on foot. Supposedly, they added one more dungeon as well, which I don't think I played, despite getting the expansion download. The game really should've been more magnificent, but maybe it walked so that Nier: Automata, released just a year later, could run. I only just picked up Nier, but I've heard loads of good things about it. Kingdom Hearts 3 was also being worked on and released in 2019, so I feel the studio has a horrible habit of overworking their people. We Kingdom Hearts fans already make jokes that the famed Tetsuya Nomura is stretched too thin between so many projects, but that really applies to everyone there.

Need for Speed Heat had the most cut content in any need for speed game. It had a much bigger map originally, which you can glitch yourself into and find an unfinished city and mountain canyons. The story was cut halfway; originally Torres would have betrayed you after the game's original ending and then team up with Shaw to make your rise in the league hard for you. Events like drag and speedcross were cut (you can still equip parts for those events) and multiplayer speedlists, battle pass and a crew territory takeover mode were cut unfortunately.

I feel like FF15 ended up the way it did because Nomura was originally going to be the one in charge of FF15, but ended up losing the leadership role midway (and getting yanked 6 ways from Sunday on other projects.
And despite TEN YEARS of development hell, there's still cut content. FF15 was too ambitious from the start, or got too ambitious along the way. And that's simply cause development time and how much we STILL didn't get is insane.

I have suspected for a while now that Elden Ring had some much cut so it could release in a completed state and that is why we've had some much free stuff added like the many side quests. I really do think that the Coliseum update(I refuse to call it a DLC) was something that was cut fairly late in development. I think one of the reasons why we've had such a delay on any real DLCs for it is because they took so long to finish what the base game is.

Red Dead 2 had a whole lot of cut content. With many unused characters, weapons, clothing, side activities and story getting shortened by 3 hours worth of cut content. Plus Arthur was originally able to go to New Austin as unique voice lines still exist in game if you manage to glitch into NA with Arthur implying originally Arthur would access NA first instead of John. Plus Mexico and Guarma could be visited by John but that was cut as well.

Demon souls 6th arch stone is basically recreated in Elden ring as the Northern land of the giants
Even in demon souls the last monumental says and the last to the great giants of the northern lands and in Elden ring the Fire Giant boss is that stomach mouth yeti just red now and with a giant eye. So in a way the 6th arch stone exists just in a different fromsoft game. Lots of more parallels but it s always fun to find them yourself

I thought Shadow of The Colossus was going to be on the list, there s literally mythology surrounding the cut content of that game There were supposed to be 48 colossi, then that number changed to 24 and finally it ended up being 16. There are some textures still in the game, as well as some unfinished scenarios and even game modes. There s so much cut content that even some of the lore hints at the missing colossi.

I remember being disappointed by RAGE. Like the first few hours or so seemed like a normal game for the most part, world-building, meeting characters -- I imagine for reviewers -- and then it all kind of fell apart into driving around mechanics and shooting, and all the RPG-style introductions to different characters seemed to go no-where. It's been a long time. but I don't remember the game ending, it just stopped.

GT Sport deserves a mention, no GT Auto/performance parts only setup settings, no snow circuit was ever added in 'dirt/snow' tracks, some VGT cars which had been confirmed from GT6 (although that might be the manufacturers' fault too, plus it kind of worked like a GT7 Prologue with an emphasis on multiplayer/FIA GT championships. Doesn't mean I regret putting in those hours though!

I'm 99% sure quidditch was cut from HL and it makes me sad. There's so much evidence. Fully geared llayers, people practicing, references in general, multiple quidditch pitches albeit only one full sized that I've found. There's a miniature animated model you can build. The entire gear storage room is there and full kf all the models. That's just off the top of my head.

Fun fact: In Yakuza Kiwami 2's game files, there is a beta yagami model that was used as a placeholder until RGG Studios finished the complete model for Yagami (Judgment and Kiwami 2 were being worked on at the same time, as well as Yagami's beta moveset which was a sorta-clunky mash of both styles. You can use the beta yagami model and moveset with mods, pretty cool.

FF15 was so long in development, went through so many changes - including the title (thank God it was separated from FF13) - yet they still released it too early. Prolly because FF7 Remake and FF16 were more important.
Seriously, they have cut so much content that in order to fully understand the final of one of the dlcs, you need to watch Kingsglaive film: v

I didn't realize how much was cut from FFXV, though I guess I'm not surprised by it. I had trouble with that part though because you kept saying Nilfheim instead of Niflheim. I'm dyslexic, so I read things wrong all the time, but for some reason it really bothered me. Love your videos though, no hate! My brain just won't stop with it (my problem, not yours.

So I played FF15 early on. Got to the point where you suddenly ended up jailed for a bit, then could travel back in time to do stuff you hadn't done yet. Quit because it made no sense and just wasn't enjoying the game anymore. Is that just the halfway point, or almost the end? Since it made it seem like you were going to fight the boss after that.
