UNREAL ENGINE 5. 3 MAKES BIG CHANGE, WE PLAYED SPIDER-MAN 2 & MORE I get the impression UE wants to get more into Hollywood - I've not yet seen a UE5 game on PC that doesn't turn into a blurry ugly mess when moving above slow motion speed (no, it's not a potato PC) - a UE engine badge used to mean it would run decently - now I avoid it - and yeah Unity. /facepalm /passthebud

I'm currently playing Cyberpunk 2077 (for the first time) before the big patch to enjoy the changes when they come lol
does it make sense? I don't know, I just feel like after the big patch the current Cyberpunk 2077 might dissappear in a sense so I want to know what changes and how
Happened to me while I was playing ghostwire tokyo, they did a big patch that added stuff and changed some stuff and it felt like the previous game I was playing I left unfinished
I guess I'm not made for games as a service type world where story driven games change radically between patches.
With multiplayer games I don't have this problem, I don't care that much about them so any radical change doesn't really feel like much to me.

I'm playing through Kingdom Come Deliverance for the first time and after 30-something hours, I'm really enjoying it and REALLY want a sequel. The game looks great but could use some more polish in certain scenarios, better animations for dialogues and better animation transitions for npcs and then there's all the new graphical milestones we've reached as an industry since the game came out that could benefit it even more. Just an incredibly immersive game that could benefit from being even more immersive.

Remember when EA pushed microtransactions. so can we get mad at every game now for it. Like please, im sick of it. Really. And skins, sorry people but if you buy skins in game you are the problem. Now developers work on skins instead of levels or just REAL game content. No one has ever cared what I look like in a game, and if they did and said Nate, that skin is really cool and then I felt good inside and felt like that interaction that I paid for was worth it. Then I am shallow and empty inside.

Unity could reverse course, but it likely won't save them. The fact that they had the audacity to even suggest this ridiculous plan drives home the point that they simply cannot be trusted by anyone who is staking their developing career on Unity's engine. Even if they back down from this, they'll quickly look for other ways to squeeze the life out of developers. They're dead, and they have only themselves to blame.

The 1 per reload thing is getting misquoted. He was using this as a hypothetical example of how a player may be more willing to part with real money when gameplay pushes them into a pressured situation, i. e. A tense firefight where a quick full reload would be available for real money.
I wouldn't mind if the man. retired sooner rather than later, but spreading misinformation is detriment to everyone.

Makes sense a EA scum bag, would be in the unity mix. Hopefully they go broke, and it opens up room for other game engines with better business models. Playing Baldur's gate 3 badly, as I never played dnd games. Playing starfield, it's okay not great not terrible it's eh. Oh and I need to finish Hogwarts at some point, and dragon age origins, because that was a pain to get running had to mod it.

The Unity debacle is just another greedy cash grab, and not surprising considering their leadership's track record. He's the perfect example of how greed can make you crazy. This whole thing is like watching an implosion in slow motion. They can explain all they want, but all I see is a house on fire. Also, why on earth would anyone want to play a console game on their phone?

Usually when I hear about some big controversial thing that everyone is apparently upset about, it's usually overblown sensationalism. But holy hell, there is no way what Unity is doing can be considered acceptable! In what world should they have the right to charge per install of a finished product? That'd be like Adobe Premiere charging a fee for every stream of a film or show!

If the games shown run at the same quality as their console counterparts, that new Apple iPhone 15 will indeed be something else. Of course, graphical fidelity isn't the only important thing. UI and how the games control are just as important, if not more so. Heh, I recall my original RE4 on mobile back in the day. It was graphically sound, but nigh unplayable.

For sure, there are a bunch of heavy hitter games being released right now. News came out that Immortals of Avium did very poorly with sales, which isn't a big surprise. It's not a bad game, but it's not a heavy hitter, being released at a terrible time with minimal marketing and support from the publisher.
Been busy with Starfield myself.

I'm so excited about the Tomb Raider remaster. I already preordered it on Steam. I am excited about RE4R Separate Ways and FF7 Rebirth. Since I work full-time and am taking classes this semester, I only have a little time for gaming, but I try to get some play time in on Sundays. Maybe one day I will finish Final Fantasy 16 lol.

Good to see you guys are continuing to cover more crucial points of the games industry from tech to some of the many on-the-rise topics such as this Unity fiasco going on lately. Man, sure sucks for them but I am contractor who uses Unreal every day, so more business for us I guess.

The iPhone doesn t suffer from lack of power. Games on the 14 look amazing and 60fps is awesome, but it s short lived. It s the thermals that need attention. What good is it to play a console game just to have your screen dim after 5 minutes and your battery gone in 30? .

If they want to do a flying super hero game, there's a huge void for a Superman game. With the addition of a No Man's Sky style of space travel we have available in modern games, an open world Superman game could be legendary.

I ve played so many indie games made in Unity and it s been such a great tool for indie devs in the past. This is tremendously egregious but coming from the let s charge people for reloading in multiplayer matches guy, I m not surprised.

I would love to see a company charge per installation of a program that runs their engine and how many studios would go bankrupt from illegal downloads and installs.
Remnant 2 and Icarus have been my big games recently.

I didn t believe you when you said that John Riccitiello wanted to charge battlefield players to reload their gun. I thought you were making a joke. So, I looked it up and ya. It s true. That s why I don t buy EA games anymore

Playing, or just finished Immortals of Aveum! Very forward driving story, bigger better harder. I enjoyed it once the bugs were delt with. The devs were very helpfull!
Good game!
Now starting lies of P tomorrow morning.

Tough to decide what to play these days but recently picked up Baldur's Gate 3 and Remnant 2. Working through FF16 and Jedi survivor along with my daily dose of COD of course. Next pickups likely to be Starfield and Armored Core 6!
