10 Things You Should NEVER Say To A GAMER Xbox still beats the crap out of PS with the controller alone. I will die on this hill. I've never had to replace an Xbox controller wwith normal care and use. PS3 I went through 3 controllers in 1 year. I never threw it, or anything. this was completely normal use. I would always get COD stick drift. From what I've heard, they still have that problem. For like 60 dollars or whatever they are. that should never happen, unless you throw or step on the controller. My 5 year old xbox one controller still works and looks like it's brand new. Also even if that wasn't an issue. I hate when my thumbs touch.

Most of that is just people who don't really understand gaming and what it is, still being stuck in old mindset of gaming is for kids and you will grow out of it. Also part of them probably don't really understand concept of doing something purely for fun. And reading books isn't always educational either. You do have fiction with book and you are as likely to learn anything new from that as you are from game. Not saying everything is made up, sometimes they do things or write things in way that would work in real world too. But nevertheless, even reading masterpieces, it won't make me much smarter. And stories in games can equally provoke thinking and opens questions questions, just like books. Also a lot of them equate gaming with watching TV, because that is what they do and know. Because we as humans, tend to like to simplify things with something that is closer to us. But it is not the same, there is one major difference. Watching TV is passive, you sit there. Also reading books is passive too. While games have active component, since you participate in whatever is going on, provoking more of thinking, learning on the fly and applying partial or incomplete information to your situation. You aren't just watching/reading and absorbing, you are actively doing things on the screen.
As for every console being Nintendo, it is just what parents know, they seen ads and all when they were younger and they remembered it, because Nintendo was and is huge brand. However they don't care enough to know other brands. But Nintendo was just lucky to be big at the right time. Heck for those parents, it is more likely they will remember hearing somewhere about Atar or Comodore, than it is that they know of Sony and Microsoft.
And marketing, it is just business people problem, with how gaming industry became big, so you had rooms of those marketing people that never did gaming in their lives, being like grandparents, trying to understand gaming and taking things for granted. Of course as those age and move on, there will be less and less of that. Except for corporate decisions, those sadly for representatives, have to be defended no matter how much they agree. Which is what Xbox 1 and Xbox 360 thing falls under. They focused on wrong crowd and paid for it by losing generation. Also similar is true for Blizzard who decided to conclude PC gamer centric event by announcing that after long series of PC games, next Diablo will be mobile only. I mean Bethesda pulled the same. But it seems like they had some smart people there and instead of ending it with TES Blades, they teased TES6 for PC and consoles. Which meant that everyone was way too busy being excited about TES6, so no one even bothered thinking about Blades. That being sad, we had no idea back then just how far away TES6 was, but nevertheless, it did work. But as time goes on, we do have more and more of people there who know gaming and this is going to be less of an issue, unless command comes from the top. I got feeling that guy on stage knew, he didn't expect as poor reception, but he knew, he just couldn't go against Activision, so he was high on bit of hopeful thinking that it will be fine. But they really should have teased Diablo 4. Like even if they knew nothing about final game, you can put few series staples, like barbarian, rogue, sorcerer. on it with Diablo 4 logo and few of recurring enemies you know will be there, like Fallen and their shamans. boom, done, you can't be too far off, no matter how game turns in the end. It is not like Bethesda has shown us even half of what I said and I bet that if you would noclip flight from teaser, none of locations would be exactly the same as teased. And no one cares, it is teaser, not gameplay demonstration, sole purpose is that it tells us, don't worry guys, we are working on it with some concept art that is close enough to representative of the idea and maybe somewhat something in game. But even so all games do have unreleased stuff in trailers, like WotLK had environment destruction, that never came, TF2 had nailgun ammo and giant injection that never made it, hell naigun ammo, despite no nailguns in game still is on dispenser, I think. :-D

how can you be so oblivious, as to say pepsi and coke taste the same?
if you think that, you also think sugar and salt also taste the same. chocolate and vanilla taste the same. and clearly dont have taste buds, or other means of identifying flavors. thats how different pepsi and coke are, even if you like one more, or have no preference. they are drastically different, and easily identifiable.
at least your right about some ones gonna be mad about it in the comments. you make claims objectively false claims. people should be mad about that. if you can tell the difference between nintendo and playstation, you should be able to tell the difference between pepsi and coke. your logic goes both ways.

Honestly though, number nine. It IS just a game. If you scream and cry and fling your controller across the room, then your have some issues with your emotions. If you ve been stuck on a boss for three hours, maybe take a break? Frustration and misguided anger won t make you perform better. And the dudes (yes, they re always dudes) who destroy their controllers, monitors and other stuff because the game is too hard are absolutely pathetic and immature. You re not tough, you re acting like a spoiled child.

I actually had to have my husband (gamer) tell me to calm down that it's just a game and to take a break and come back after I calmed down some. sometimes when you spend hours trying to solve a level you get fatigued and need a break. come back when your mind is refreshed. my husband and I go over Our old saves and figure out if we are ever going to play that game again. I do art and Video games have been and will always be art. mobile games and console games are the same, just the controls are different.

I watched an old GameRanx a while ago, they asked us to switch things up and play games on a harder difficulty, Since then I started to play all my games at Hard setting, sure a new game feels difficult at first, but I really feel accomplished when I start to learn the games mechanics and tricks and start to play good at Hard setting, its so much more fun now. I am not bragging or anything, just wanted to share my experience with yall. Thanks for new video Falcon, I liked it 8)

Read a book! Why? I read books for school. there's more ways of learning than reading. I've learned 10x more from YT videos than books over the years. Video games are Also very educational in their own right. Imagine how much history everyone would know if like say Assassin's Creed was 100 percent historically correct. Otherwise the only people that care about history are teachers.

Number 2: y mom walked in on me playing final fantasy x-2 where Yuna had to massage the bad guy. The moans and stuff made her ask what I was doing. I just said Massaging a bad guy to make them fall asleep. She just watched for a second then asked if she could try as my pattern recognition sucks at times. She beat that part for me in a few minutes. I am not even ashamed for it.

Gosh bro. I was ecstatic to see you say, as a JRPG fan, that your went back to specifically Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI(my all time favorite game. They are literally legendary games that are some of the best of the genre.
BUT. you can't get away with saying Coke and Pepsi taste the same. Coke at least has flavor, while Pepsi is basically just sweet water.

Erm, games aren't the proper format to convey many of the concepts in GOOD books.
A pretty poor argument. Even as a gamer, I wouldn't even go there. Sure, Disco Elysium is better than say Harry Potter, but that's not what people mean when they tell you to go read a book. Not usually anyway.
I get that this is for entertainment purposes, but a reach is a reach.

Someone wanted to buy a new console after so many years. I told him about some co-op games because he wanted to play with his friends. As I was introducing Street of Rage 4 and CTR Nitro Fueled to him. He said to me with a frank face that they are like the original streets of rage 1 and CTR ps1 and there is no difference between them. I was like sure they are:

Ah yes, deleting save files when you specifically tell your friend/sibling not to change anything but just play the game that they had wanted to play. Instead all they do is mess with the settings, try to save and all other things other than playing the game. The amount of times I've lost a save to my sister's shenanigans is infuriating

Actually #8 the ending of it, I once had to go to the bathroom while playing UC2, and I hid and I come back to the living room to see my character doing hip thrusts in front of an enemy because my mom kept pressing the taunt button XD, ended up getting a friend from that that I played for years with until the PS3 became irrelevant.

Just pause it must give you a visceral response (thankfully my parents dont fall into that category they say after this match do (whatever it is they want me to do) they they understand) also anytime someone tells me to read a book i literally just say I've read every book in my library multiple times shuts them up right quick

A better comparison for Number 8 (Online games) is an active sports match. Say you're playing volleyball in a high stakes tournament where there's winning and losing teams, and someone comes and interrupts the game because they can't wait 10 minutes for you to help them take the trash out, who's the real asshole there?

As I owner of PS5, Xbox Series S, Razer blade 15, switch im offended by the Self-help mention, Im also a Stoic philosepy learner and love self-help, mindfulness, and personal improvment books, also a runner and believe in physical training. Just felt the need to mention for the other gamer/book readers out there.

I think the game CONTROL is among the greatest works of art. Most painting\sculpture these days is activist trash. Video games is where art is happening. Admititly video games don; t achieve the perfection of a piece of art created by a singular genius, but the scale and epic nature of games makes up for this.

When Falcon was talking about number 9. It reminded me recently of a challenge I put on myself for Tears of the Kingdom. I wanted to see if I would be able to defeat all 7 bosses in a row without getting killed. I failed a few times and got frustrated. But last week I was finally able to pull it off!

The Coke comparison is funny. You know the difference between Coke and Pepsi. Uhh. Some people do. But Coke has historically had a similar problem to Nintendo, with people referring to all sodas a Cokes. Like, Do you want a Coke? Sure! Okay. Do you want the Dr. Pepper or the Sprite?
