Cyberpunk 2077 phantom liberty - before you buy

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty - Before You Buy I have been playing Cyberpunk on and off since launch. I have been playing Starfield like no tomorrow since it launched and the only thing that has gotten me off of it is Cyberpunk's 2. 0 update and now Phantom Liberty. Seriously for me personally, I don't know of a better time in gaming. It is genuinely hard to choose between Starfield, Cyberpunk, and Armored Core 6 each night. And then theres always that part of me that wants to play Skyrim too, but for real shit is great. 2023 is one of the best years for gaming ever

I wanted to play the game but was disappointed with the launch and didn't want to support that kind of release. However, I came back after 1. 5. The game wasn't perfect still, but I saw an effort to fix the game and right wrongs, so I gave it a chance.
Loved it, still love it, and it's only been getting better with each update. I can't wait to play Phantom Liberty. For anyone who hasn't played yet or has the game but dropped it, I personally recommend giving it another chance. View it was a new launch, the one it was supposed to have, because I genuinely think people are missing out thanks to the terrible start it had.
Cyberpunk 2077 has turned into a quality game, and though we shouldn't praise how it was handled up to and on launch, I don't see why we can't respect their efforts to make up for it snd enjoy what we now have today

I held out on CP2077 at first, because while it looked cool, it wasn't my kind of thing, and then I heard of swarm of bugs it had. I picked it up later, still expecting a bug fest and a laugh. and came away with thinking; this is a really great game. Because of how immesive it was, like I could totally get into the life of V, and think it was a pretty shitty existence. but it was a fun visit and I was engaged with the characters. and a little annoyed when I found out a split second choice I made meant one of them got iced off screen.
So yeah, I am looking forwards to dive back in. and probably finish it, because I've grown attached to the remaining weirdos and I feel bad I might be getting some more of them killed now.

stoked to be playing this game again after a horrendous launch. 1000% more playable. Still a few funky things that happen now and then like calling my car and it spawn upside down a block away. but hey thats comedy. Love the reworked perks and skill trees and that cosmetics are now just that and you can look however you want in night city. Not being limited to what is the best clothing stat-wise really helps you like your character that much more (even tho you barely see yourself in this first person game. Excited to finally truely crack out and explore the new area and the rest of the city.

I was burned from the start. I'm pretty much never going to play this game until they put in what they promised. Incredibly dynamic story and story choices, vast amount accessible buildings, the day and night life of NPC's, and a crowded Night City.
I liked this game because of the world. The story came second to me. I wanted to go to a busy intersection of Night City and watch the daily lives of it's people. Explore and see believable shIt go down. Then do a bunch of stuff, and then enjoy the story.
But it's just not there for me. Sorry CDPR. I loved Edgerunners though.

Since the 2. 0 update, I started again, thought why not try it with the new systems in place as a fresh character.
I've faced more crashes, broken missions, bugged NPCs and just had a terrible experience than I did two months ago before this update.
So glad I didn't pre-order the expansion. I don't know why I expected anything better after the shit launch but I guess No Man's Sky spoiled me. Speaking of which, the state of the game at launch, this expansion should have been free anyway.

I bought Cyberpunk 2077 when it first came out (maybe preordered it, I can t remember) and didn t play it right away because I still only had a PS4 and saw what a nightmare it was at the time. I didn t sweat it though, because of CD Project Red s reputation with The Witcher series and was confident that they could and would fix the problems with the game and breathe new life into it a la No Man s Sky style. So, I m pretty excited to jump into the game and see what experiences it holds.

TLDR 2. 0 patch took what a bunch of modders did, put them in a nice neat little patch and said hey guys we've been working really hard! - when no infact they aren't. And this DLC is the one and ONLY dlc thats coming to the game as they are just abandoning it after this. Thats really a slap in the face, because if you remember, several DLCS were supposed to come, and continued work was supposed to happen. We never got to this day the product we were promised.

On my 4th playthrough in prep for the expansion and I LOVE the updates. Theyve refocused the game on progression via skilltrees and cyberware and away from loot (which was never its strongest aspect anyway, and it is FELT. The game feels like (from a gameplay standpoint) its created a much more solid and focused identity for itself. Its not without its bugs here and there still but its so much more polished and Im just loving it even more now!

I played the game at lunch for a little bit but I decided to wait until there was significant Improvement. Just jump back in yesterday and the game is freaking amazing. The visuals are graphically stunning, the gameplay and dialogue are some of the best I've seen so far if any RPG
Definitely glad I waited
By the way the cops are assholes they started shooting at me for simply looking at a crime scene investigation

I played cyberpunk on its day 1 release, on my old day one released PS4. Aside from the bugs I still loved it, was a great game but obviously had a lot of issues. Completed it once and came back to it on the ps5 last year - it's amazing, cdpr have done wonders both reviving and improving it. Loving the 2. 0 update, being a bladerunner feels right now. Look forward to the dlc drop tonight!

I was on at least my 6th playthrough of the base game. Absolutely love the look and feel of the city they've built, the voice acting/characters/weapons/builds/I could go on. Really can't stand the Voodoo Boys missions, not interested in replaying those another time vs jumping straight into the DLC. CDPR suggests starting from scratch, which I'm sure I'll do eventually.

Replaying the game again after update 1. 5 there is a lot to learn when playing 2. 0 where playing a new game is almost required. Still buggy as I find the deadzone for consoles to be broken. Otherwise I'm excited to play the new content, as that will really lend a hand to new mechanics with new gameplay rather than new mechanics same old gameplay

I played on release, but i wasn't really into it strictly because i didn't want an RPG at that time. I didn't have any bugs or glitches, just kind of stopped. I just sold my Xbox One and picked up a Steam Deck with money and found myself diving back into Cyberpunk and I Loved it. I binged the whole game and can't wait to pick up phantom liberty now.

personally as someone that played at launch i luckily did not experience the amount of bugs people reported
100% the game in the first 2 weeks and then did my 2nd & 3rd playthrough with the different starts
have not played since then with all the updates following
now that PL is coming out on 2. 0 its time to replay everything again owo

I, honestly, am having a hard time adjusting to the new update. How I use to play seems to be no longer viable. I am going to have to really think outside the box to perfect a character that can enjoy all the story content while not being a murderer. One thing is for sure, they made a game that really makes you feel like your in a dystopia.

I will get this expansion at some point. I first beat cyberpunk 2077 On PS4 and the worst condition possible Even though it was broken at the time it was still an awesome game. And when I played it on the PS5 about a year ago with the PlayStation 5 version I was blown away. That was my second play through and my gosh was it better.

The betrayal of the original release version was so bad for me I can't go back. I'm definitely not willing to pay CD projekt Red anymore money to play that particular game even if it does have a DLC.
Personally I think they're insane if they think anybody's going to pay for that thing and anybody who does pay for it is a mark.

reply

I'll pick it up on sale next year. I did not have many issues playing through the original game but CDPR overhyped it so much that I lost interest in it. The game was not what they promised.
Now they even declared it abandoned as they will not release additional content and will stop using their red engine.

reply

. And this is why I don't buy games until they've been out for a couple years. Pick them up for 15. 00 on a holiday sale a couple years after the release and you actually get to play the game the way it was intended, and can usually get some of the free dlc stuff thrown in on the sales too
