You totally missed the point about money and microtransactions in general. People will spend money on the most ridiculous things you can come up with, and A LOT of money! Things like that are completely out of reach for 99% of people, but 1% of the population literally spends millions of dollars for skins and addons. It's pocket change for these people. Why buy a house if you don't need (or want) one These people want to buy video game content! Capitalizing on such things is no crime. It's not even unethical. For example, you see those listings on ebay recently Like a jelly bean for $6000 Not even some rare or special one, just one somebody pulled out of a bag they just bought a a grocery store. And people buy those things! I can list whatever I want for whatever price I want, but things are only worth what people pay for them. And companies would not list products for a price they know nobody would buy. How about those random gofundme accounts or patreons that people set up for no reason and leave alone for months, then check back later and some idiot donated thousands of dollars to it for no reason. Why not take advantage of such things Dude wants to give me money so let him! Nobody is forcing anybody to buy anything. Certain things like food and electricity are essential so the prices for those goods is relevant but nobody needs a $5000 skin for a character in a video game.

Just to make it worse Escape From Tarkov devs BSG made an announcement that they will be removing the Edge of Darkness pack from their store at certain point I can't remember but they promised that if you buy it you will get to keep all the promised content even though the package wouldn't be longer available kinda pushing the community to upgrade if they haven't upgraded yet and then a few months later they pull this sht out. I've been playing EFT since 2018 and I was always proud of the game that I paid for but when I've seen this Unheard BS I felt embarrassed of even having the game installed on my PC.

Sony, T2, Apple, EA, and Activision are some of the worst when it comes to making greedy choices. Sony took away players' ability to backup individual save files to external media with PS5 and the only way to upload them is if you have PS. That means you lose everything if something happens to your console and you don't have PS. Then there is the Helldivers 2 nonsense. Out of the blue, PC players will be required to link their PSN account to continue playing a game they already paid for. Some countries do not allow PSN and others have restrictions that require owning a PS4 or PS5 to create one.

For anyone that might want to know, Escape from Tarkov has had an illicit community of modders for years, and one such team is called Single Player Tarkov. It gives you the most prominent feature of the EFT Unheard of edition, namely a Single Player PVE version of Tarkov.
It does not have Co-op PVE, and it has stated it doesn't have plans to add that. Still, if you play Tarkov and 1) want to play pve and 2) don't want to play pve with your loot goblin comrades, then check out Single Player Tarkov.
Edit: oh yeah the best part, there are no cheaters in Single Player Tarkov.

Yall kinda missed the mark on the tarkov issue. While most of what you said is true, you missed like 2 key points.
1) EOD was announced to be discontinued many months in advance, so saying it was mysteriously removed is just disingenuous.
2) They nixed the whole 6-month idea completely due to fan outcry. Now, EOD owners get the pve for free, and priority matchmaking will not be added at all.
Let me be clear: I do not support what the devs attempted to do, but that doesn't mean i have to agree when someone misrepresents an issue.

So Battlestar Games is charging gamers who own Escape from Tarkov $250 for a Special Edition (Unheard Edition) version of Escape from Tarkov What kind of unheard of shit is that
I heard about the $120 Preorder for Star Wars Outlaws, I want to play the game, but I do not pay that much to get it. I'll wait later on to play it.
EA charging $350 for a One Winged Angel Deathbox to Apex Legends players It doesn't surprise me because EA games always pull shit like that and won't even let American McGee make Alice 3!

When there are thousands of great games available for dirt cheap or even free, there's never a valid reason to shell out $100 for a single game. Even $50 for one game is somewhat unjustified. For example, about two years ago, I picked up about 200 games for $10 in one of those massive game bundles. I'm still working my way through that bundle and it was a totally legal/legit bundle. Most are cheesy little indie games, some are total trash, but some are decent AA titles.

When i think greedy move, mostly on mmorpg, bu that just how it is work cause it is free to play.
But if you say worst greedy move on single player pc game, i vote for Bethesda elder scrolls V anniversary edition dlc. That not just greedy, but it is pretty nasty, basically robbing from player. It is just make the free mod game become pay off. And more worse they not even adding something new in the game. not just that, after update the game the mod is broken.

Ubisoft: give us $130 and along with your Star Wars game, we guarantee that you’ll get a mission with Jabba the Hut, a bunch of in game items that have no monetary value, a digital art book, and 3 days early access (probably)
Nintendo: give us $130 and we’ll give you the next Zelda game, a steel book, some pins, a metal poster, and a physical art book (but don’t try to under cut us or we’ll cut you)

Him listing apex makes SO much sense. Whole reason i quit playing ea games entirely was because i got screwed out of all of my battle pass rewards, heirlooms, everything, put 3 grand in the course of the time the game came out up to 2020, and ea support did literally nothing to help. Basically just told me too bad, nothing we can do, sorrybut hey can you do this questionnaire to let us know how we did

The rant on Star Citizen is absolutely not needed, and unnecessary.
You can play the game on free weekends, and just for 45$. Everything else is totally optional for yourself.
People not seeing the possible technological innovation in gaming from this game, have their heads in the sands. Server meshing and everything surrounding that is insane, and can change multiplayer gaming forever.

The worst thing about the whole situation is that gamers are obviously still dumb enough to keep throwing their money to these greedy cucks. People still buy, game companies will keep doing stuff like this.
Not saying I'm much different. I pay for PlayStation plus and I buy games. The idea of paying $250 for a pve mode sounds insane to me though. And I bet a ton of people still bought.

I find it amazing and no I don't mean amazing as in holy crap wow I mean amazing as what the hell is going on that people would actually pay double the price of their actual video game to receive just the one video game and a couple of extra little digital skins come on people wearing a economy downfall and we're all paying out the ass for one video game

I loved the RMAH on D3, because I madea few hundred bucks off gems and recipes. But they should have made it. ONLY gems and recipes. Everything else you find, at normal levels of D2.
Same with the in-game currency AH. ONLY gems, recipes, and maybe common and magic items just for easier crafting if you had the gold. No rare, no unique, no set.

It's the timing of it, but this Helldivers 2 debacle is pretty insane lol. Sony literally willing to tank a developer's well earned reputation, while banning tons of users just for the net gain of angry people to PSN.
We had a PvE game where everyone was roleplaying and getting along, and Sony dropped a hellbomb stratagem on it.

It's not just somebody who's buying them, it's enough people buying them to apparently make it worth setting the insanely high price, which is crazy when you think about it, that they can make more money off the whales buying a $2-300 cash shop item than they would make off of millions of people paying for a $5 cash shop item.

Lol it's like they put children pressing random numbers then they use those numbers as prices, it's like this 926357292$
Devs: nice we're gonna use this as the ultimate greed(cough) edition to grant the players extra socks in game, then ofc there are those kids who look like ET who buys anything they see

I always laugh at the idea of people paying extra for early access to a game. paying more money to play the worst most buggiest retail version of a game while those patient gamers who wait for the game to be discounted will also most likely get a version that patches out most of the issues. makes sense.

Price fixing is now as MAP pricing in Canada now a days. Been like a decade thing. It was supposed to stop bigger companies from selling things cheaper than a mom and pop store. There's a few positives, but quite a bit of negatives, but also, manufacturers found so many loop holes to circumvent this.
