P. T. and Silent Hills really hurts. P. T. was one of the best horror experiences ever, if not the best. To not even be able to play P. T. again is just ridiculous. So petty and dumb. Failing to capitalize on such a well hyped product by releasing the full game or take credit for releasing such a good piece of work as P. T. just because you're mad at Kojima, doesn't make sense to me. Can you imagine missing out on releasing Bloodstained as a Castlevania game because of Konami's dumb decisions. I don't understand it at all.

So many games are killed because of devs beef, executive ambitions etc. Dreams and reality of someone's art tossed away for something that sometimes works but fails. I wish more people would just follow through or invest into things that really would work. Sad to see it and man honestly as a kid hearing things from the grapevine in the early days of Xbox 360 - PS3 era you just play what you want not caring about the majority because what would've changed gaming got it's candle blown out.

Would love to see ambitious games that released too late
Reminds me of an N64 game that released in 2001 called Aidyn Chronicles the first mage. Had pretty middling reviews but as I replay it, this game could've had a serious cult following, but alas, it's really obscure and only has a small following these days. Like, only a few hundred on a subreddit kind of cult following.

I always thought it'd be interesting to continue the Nolanverse Batman with a video game, playing as Nightwing/Robin. You could introduce Batgirl and her hangups over not being the favorite of Jim Gorden's children as revealed by Two-Face, and you could even bring back The Joker with the right voice actor.

dude how about Scalebound the microsoft Xbox-exclusive game developed by Platinum games. if that was not canceled maybe xbox could have recovered from the xbox one failures that still have ramifications today.

Honestly I just wish studios would make more AA games. We don’t need every game to redefine the genre or be crazy ambitious, I really just want well made games with fun mechanics and levels. Not every experience needs to be the last of us deep, gta 5 crazy detail, or fortnite massive

Just want to point out that 2017's Prey wasn't a follow-up to the Original Prey in any way shape or form. The only thing those two games have in common is the name Prey, which Arkane was forced to use for brand recognition since the publisher had no faith in a new IP.

Nemesis system isn't just oh wow defeated boss returning. It's literally tiny stories between randomly generated enemies. Each time you interact with them, it will change on later encounters with them and bunch of crazier stuff.

I know people are upset about Arkane Austin shutting down, I did like the 2017 Prey but I really wonder what the actual Prey 2 would be like. especially because the Prey game from 2006 has a blatant cliffhanger. .

I'm surprised you didn't mention the follow up to American McGee's Alice: Madness Returns, it was titled American McGee's Alice: Asylum, it would have served as a prequel to the original game (American McGee's Alice)

Honestly, I never liked the nemesis system. When I defeat a boss I like it stay defeated, personally I find it boring when they keep coming back again and again.
But that's just me.
