A lot of people will disagree with me on this, but, to me, as a long-time Remedy fan (from the first Max Payne up to Control, Alan Wake II quite frankly disappointed me a lot with all the stuff I looked into as research before deciding to grab a copy (gameplay, story, and so on) that I decided not to purchase and support it. And, before anyone says so, yes, I like that style of action-survival horror, and I was anticipating it at first. until I eventually decided to watch full walkthroughs and was just plainly saddened by the gameplay loop and how a crap ton of its runtime dragged on and on. And that's not even talking about how Alan himself was treated in his own game. He gets the less interesting enemy types to fight against, and he barely gets any weapons to use. The only positive thing I can say about Alan's side of the campaign would be him getting the more intriguing, mind-bending set pieces. That's it. And I'm not a fan of Saga Anderson as a character at all. Not even mentioning the involvement of SBI here with my personal feedback in terms of Saga's character writing and personality. Oh, and I know lots loved it, but I did not like at all how that musical segment was done. And I grew up loving a lot of musicals as a kid. The integration here was just not it for me. It's really a combination of things I know are subjective to my preferences and expectations along with what I believe to be objective issues with the game's overall structure, pacing, writing, and gameplay mechanics.

Homefront the Revolution was a big disappointment when it came out not only because of the repetitiveness of it but it was also trying to capture people who played dying light and far cry games I was really hoping it would do well I hear people talking good about it now and saying it was underrated which I agree I feel like if it would’ve had more time in the oven it would’ve been a lot more smoother and maybe with the success of it would’ve came out with another homefront game also I guess cod and battlefield played a part to anyway yeah homefront was my favorite game back on the Xbox 360 and homefront the Revolution didn’t stand up to the hype

I can see why console fans were pissed about CP77. They didn't get what they were promised and the didn't get what they paid for. I myself am a PC guy, so it ran fine for me. But I totally get why the PSX crowd were pissed.
Mass Effect Andromeda was a disappointment, but I looked at it kind of like ME1. 'the first book of the trilogy'. I wish it had gotten the fixes it needed.
And I gotta admit, I was disappointed with Starfield. The plot and writing were overwhelmingly 'meh'.
Another couple of duds were Diablo IV and Fallout 76. And you can add Dragon's Dogma 2 to that list too.

Marvel versus Capcom 3 hit home I remember standing in line with excitement waiting to get that game I used to play two all the time with my family I had so many treasured memories tied to that game I remember I bought it home and me and my friends are playing it and it was just three buttons like there is no more skill based on it there was no thought process you just had a button for attack had a button for your special move had a button for super move and that was that I remember just taking it out of my Xbox like I planted for like 3 hours and just returned it back to the store

Anthem was without a doubt a disappointment, the expectation were high and it underdelivered but the game also had the BEST flying mechanics to date, it visually looked great, the customisation were good, the fighting (combat and shooting) gameplay was also really good but the enemies become repetitive and shallow. And other minor good things BUT everything else was bad, the story, the map design, the progression and the MAIN problem the online servers. Wish another company can try to revive it, even under a different name LOL because the potential was massive

While there are some things I liked about Mass Effect: Andromeda, I do agree i was over all disappointed by the game. The combat was really polished, don't get me wrong, but parts of the story didn't really hit and over all felt like some kind of swan song to what the past trilogy was.
It still had some pretty big memorable -optional fights- but they didn't really matter in the end either. For such a big premise to the game and scope, they just didn't quite hit a fresh new game mark. It felt mostly rehashed which made it such a shame.

Honestly suicide squad would have been great, if they werent chasing the games as a service thing. A clever rocksteady game with missions hilighting the abilities of each member of the squad, and a legitimate story, beginning, middle, end yadda yadda. That would have been excellent! It's sad to see that publishers see a failure like that as nobody wants X game and they don't let the right game actually happen when their platform is what killed it, not the subject.

I actually finished Andromeda this week. Had not played it since it's release. I seriously disliked it when it came out (most likely for the reasons mentioned in this video and the fact that I had just played the trilogy right before did not help, but playing it on it's own now the game is not bad. It is not as good as the other 3, but if anyone is planning on playing the Mass Effect games you might want to start with this one in orrder to not get disapointed later on.

Ni No Kuni 2: Revenent kingdom. The first game was sooo wonderful! And then in the second game the story was not near as charming and suddenly out of nowhere you had top down army battle strategy areas that you HAD to do to progress. It was even part of the final battle! Super disappointing as that was not the type of game I wanted to play at all and it should not have been in the main game. Maybe a fun mini game as a bonus but not part of the main game.

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite removed all Xmen for licensing reasons, turned the game from 3x3 to 2x2, reused every single asset they could from MvC3 (animation, moves, supers etc) and yet somehow made the game look worse than a game that was released more than 5 years before. It kinda looked like it was the Switch version of MvC3, honestly
The FGC had asked for a new mvc for so long and they just crapped on our heads with that one

There are plenty of great old Xbox games to play instead anyway, in the past week I picked up Spec Ops the Line, PSI Ops and Second Sight for the older Xbox consoles.
Better than any of the modern trash from AAA.
For modern games AA is where it’s at with the likes of Robocop and Terminator Resistance.
Dark Forces Remaster is pretty damn good too.
There is just no need to waste money on AAA games anymore.

ME Andromeda 5/10 with mods 7/10. really fun unbalanced gameplay and biotics feels like your really op what biotics was suppose to be, only thing holding this back is the story and the characters maybe 2 kinda interesting and dont care about the rest, if jacob is in this he'll be the 2nd best interesting companion. also only 2 new race in andromeda the bad guys and the good guys thats it, pretty much 50% of the story.

People love what they love. I had a couple of people cuss me out & loose their sh because I criticized Callisto Protocol & Suicide Squad. Each time I thought it was people trolling but then when they’d go into a huge in depth rant & why the games were misunderstood & you’d see them arguing with other people in the comments it was obvious they were seriously offended people didn’t like the games.

if i had to pick a disappointment. i would have to say Overwatch 2 the promise of a PVE at the time was hype after such a long content drought in Overwatch only for well. let's just say a massive lie as almost nothing that was promised came to be. it does make me wonder what was being worked on during that content drought if not even the PVE which was the main point of 2 was being worked on

Cyberpunk and Andromeda don’t belong on this list. Both games were a lot of fun, although Andromeda was way too long, it just felt never ending, despite clearly having been made as part 1 of a new trilogy. And Cyberpunk was never bad on next gen consoles or PC. I never saw a bug TBH. It’s the most beautiful game and story of the last decade, still.

Eh dude we know what happened with Redfall. Corporate assholes in suits forced people to do a game they didnt want to do. its not a big surprise most of the people working there left during the developping of this game. because they knew it was total crap and nobody wanted to do it. They basically murdered the company soul.

Andromeda is an abomination. Even if you have low expectations, it still disappoints. It's a lazy product, with awful characters, a boring story and gameplay. I bought it cheap but still regret spending money on it. I thought how bad can it be and went in with an open mind. Mistake. Playing it felt like punishment.

Gonna need a part two and three for this video, there was so many more disappointments. No Man's Sky at launch, Starfield, Forespoken, that Battlefield game that came out last year I think, Total War Pharaoh, metal gear survive, AC Unity at launch, Starwars Battlefront 2, anthem, company of heroes 3 and on and on.

Ive said it before and ill say it again, CDPR said the 2077 was not ready, they knew it wasn’t ready, they got bullied, pressured, and threatened into releasing it because people didn’t want to wait. Im not saying let them off completely, but we should, at this point, have eased up on them by now.

I don't really feel disappointed by Suicide Squad. I already have a great game where I get to pal around with DC super villains going up against a bastardized Justice League. Lego DC Super Villains. Such a good game. Looks WAY better than Suicide Squad and it's actually fun. Wo'd have thunk it
