Dragons Dogma was definitely the clickbait game for this list. While every other game on the list was an original ip, dragons dogma 2 was a sequel, ann all these games listed were devisive not because they were bad but because what they did was different. They knew what they were about and did that welll even if it wasnt for everyone. Dragons dogma 2 isnt divisive because the gameplay isnt for everyone, its divisive because what is there ist done very well, even the main draw of the game, the combat, is heavily flawed and borught down by other aspects of the game. And even then the only reason its devisive is because in the time we live in right now everything is either 0/10 trash or 10/10 masterpiece, theres no inbetween nowadays.

I for one am not the biggest fan of the switch from real time combat to turn base for the yakuza games. I cannot finish infinite wealth bruh, it takes too long. I miss real time combat. I didnt play 7 cuz infinite wealth came out. I started playing yakuza in 2022 and played zero throu kiwami 2 intro to 3, played the judgement games, the one in japan remade, and the man who erased his name. But damn this turn based stuff is nice and all but it can be just a little too slow and theres a lot of grinding to keep up with the leveling up. ahhh, im not sure if i will finish it tbh.

I resisted playing Any Metroid Prime game to this day even if I'm a Metroid Super Fan yet the same cannot be said with Yakuza series as I have put countless hours on Yakuza Like a Dragon and LAD Infinite Wealth when I totally dig the previous games in beat em up style! I didnt even bother using manual beat em up capabilities of Kiryu in Infinite Wealth as its easier to just use automatic special skills. Thankfully there is LAD Gaiden, Judgment, Lost Judgment to satisfy my beat em up craving in between. Ishin is boring for me though!

Error in the words The lack of the usual Ubisoft open world bloat! I guess you didnt try to find all those hidden korok seeds or completed all shrines and found all secrets, that is basically just a more enjoyable Ubisoft open world bloat. I love both BOTW and TOTK, both 10/10 for me but they have lots of Ubisoft open world bloat in their overall gameplay. Immortals Fenyx Rising cranked up the Ubisoft open world bloat to 12 though. If Ubisoft try to copy TOTK for IFR2 I will be amazed if they can do it hahaha

Trico - You wanted to feel like the animal was smart enough to learn in some or any way at all, but it's never so. It makes it frustrating to play as a result. You'd hope an animal you freed from where it was locked and doomed to stay would show you some or any appreciation for freeing it, but no. It was frustrating to play as a result.

Like, I get where you're coming from, but if anything the ONLY risk in Dragons Dogma 2 was releasing it. They cut out SO MUCH from the first game and watered it down until it became mud. It went from something very unique and difficult into baby's first dragons dogma. It was nowhere near as complex as the first game.

Dragon's Dogma 2 was risky I don't understand that 1. It's basically the 1st game but better in every way. I could very well be misinterpreting but no way DD2 is risky if Monster hunter games aren't risky. Target audience with each iteration different enough to grab different folks.

Zelda but open world So. Zelda The og Zelda was like the biggest world ever in a video game. One of them at least. I suppose by like Ocarina or Twilight Princess there were bigger worlds. I mean there was Elder Scrolls. But they were still pretty large, open worlds compared to most games.

If you died 100s of times playing Alien Isolation. Thats called a skill issue. Which doesn't surprise me from IGN.
So many gender confused purple haired freaks in video games journalism. So few people that are actually good at video games.
So little time!

Can someone please explain to me the love for Kojima games Its just a bunch or random shit happening that makes no sense tied together by weird game systems. Yet for some reason everyone acts like he is the greatest storyteller and game maker of all time.

Zelda always been playing with open-world concept since it first entry. Zelda 1 kinda define the old open-world genre, which got update with OoT with 3D graphics and BoTW/ToTK simply refined the genre. It wasn't really risky to do imo

Falcon was on break and was replaced by Caracara. The Last Guardian was overhyped because of how long it finally took to come out but it was still an amazing experience, releasing one generation late showed it was not made for the PS4.

I think Fallout 3 deserves some credit. Not only was Bethesda taking the reigns of a beloved IP, they were changing the entire gameplay. Regardless of critics, 3 expanded the fanbase massively and laid the foundation for New Vegas.

One of the biggest risks larian made was creating divinity 2 as one of the best rpgs during that time and throwing that away for turn based combat. Not to mention them definitely never providing a sequel despite the ending

Dragon's dogma is nice cuz it does not treat you like a baby and forces you to explore and engage with the world to progress in the quests. Is nice that not everything is marked on the map for you, I miss this in new games

That thing you said some people complain about Tears of the Kingdom is the exact same case for Ocarina of Time and Majora's mask, it's just Ocarina of Time with weirder mechanics and those two are also masterpieces

the entire point of Alien Isolation is the AI and save system
if you don't get that then your missing the point.
. its the only Alien franchise game that actually hit, been playing since 1983
