Idk about those elden ring secrets, in my eyes they made it way easier to find or deduct than for ex dark souls 2 with random npc appearing at some random spot after exhausting her dialogue and unclocking a huge portion of the game. That npc in DS2 was absolutely arbitrary, those places in Shadow of the Erdtree are right there you see them on the map, you wanna get there from the first hours of playing dlc, if you have any need for exploration. Items you have to use are more of a long shot but you can still kinda figure out the connection even if you don't read too much into the lore and dialogues. Once I found the Iris, I knew where I could try it out I only had to check if I didn't lock myself out of something to not waste time (and yes, I was locked out at that point of course. They made it way more intuitive to find that stuff out, pretty much everyone I talked about this had similar feeling.

I feel like James’ canon ending is him driving the car into the lake, and drowning alongside his wife’s already dead body. So if that’s that case then Silent Hill is basically his version of hell or limbo, and he’s doomed to live through his experiences there for all of eternity. Same for Angela who killed her brother and father, and then herself. That’s why the staircase to heaven is on fire, and Eddie died in the freezer. That’s why every time he speaks in cutscenes you can see his breath is cold by the steam that comes out of his mouth. All of them trapped there forever for their sins.

None of what you showed of Elden Ring and SotE would qualify as being an Easter Egg. It's not even particularly accurate to use the term secret for most things in the game and expansion. Not obvious, of course. Fairly obtuse, certainly. But that's just how Souls/type games go. Not big on the hand-holding or guiding with a giant flashing point on the map. But even still, calling any of it an Easter Egg isn't at all accurate, that's really not what the term is supposed to mean.

Hey Falcon, huge fan of Gameranx for a year or two now. I have a secret for you to look into, that is still being worked on. The Incognitro, in World of Warcraft. So far there are 70 steps to solve it to the current roadblock, and about 10 hours of effort save for one puzzle. That one puzzle, called the warden puzzle by the community, is unique per player and can require hours of trial and error.

I like to think that James is doomed to repeat himself in Silent Hill forever, and that every alternate ending is both real and not real at the same time. Once he beats the game, he starts over with no memories and has to play again, and again, and again, and so far he's been playing Silent Hills game for over 20 years.

Love your content, but the Infinite Wealth easter egg. If you go around to public toilets Ethereal Egesta respawns daily with a 100% spawn rate. So you potentially get about 20 per day (10 minutes of running around. Do this 5 times and you have yourself a max level weapon for Ichiban.

The bowling Easter egg is the most annoying thing ever when someone does it multiple times. I love zombies but these new matches take wayyyyy too long. It's like two hours for 40 rounds and then at round 40 even with pack a punched weapons you're barely doing anything

Stalker 2 have alot of easter eggs including harry potter car stuck on the tree, fire railway tracks for back to the future, witcher 3 geralts emblem, Dayz map and a livonia post card, iconic Bonfire of darksouls if you know what i am talking about and many more.

Something that I never see mentioned about games with unique, esoteric puzzles.
If you spent any of your adolescence or college years playing AberMUDs, the Easter eggs - or special cases as we called them in the 90s - are a lot easier to find and/or expect.

Anyone else there when Pirate Software played Animal Well live He has the vod up its like 8hrs but it's honestly a good playthrough to watch. He was completely sane the whole time figuring out bunnary code and getting a jump scare by his printer. Completely sane.

No one found any of these Easter eggs. The Easter eggs were leaked by developers. No regular gamer found these eggs especially the animal well one. Its just facts No one is out here doing all these specific things in order and magically finding these lul.

11: 10 easy way that I was able to get the Medusa head was to use the Warfarer class and swap from the magic bow using Sopor bolts and then to a greatsword or axe with one of the charged attacks. Usually makes quick work of the Medusa

Number 6 Thank Goodness Your Here is based on Barnsley, South Yorkshire here in the UK where the words Oi Thee (Hey you, Ey Up (Hello) and Tarn (Town) it really is that grim and nasty, even worse than this game.
reply

Thank Goodness You're Here! is probably the funniest game this whole year.
Too bad being a quirky niche Indie game is enough to have prevented it from winning any prizes it seems despite it being well deserving.

Animal well certainly wasn’t for me, most pure puzzle games aren’t my cup of tea. But it’s super awesome to see an indie game get such an emphatic and dedicated community behind it. Love to see it

Not sure if you’ve done lists for games with destructible environments or games that actually teach you real life things, like Microsoft Flight Sim can teach you how to work a flight GPS system etc.

Crazy you say you where an adult when COD MW was released well so was I and wow what a crazy thought! I'm an 80s baby so I got to enjoy the best decades imaginable! Late 80s early 90s all the way!

I couldn't break the glass for the NPC in Another Crab's Treasure, but when I did a backwards dodge next to it, it just flew off! Guessing it's a glitch but still no idea how you're meant to break it.
reply

None of that Elden Ring shit is an Easter egg. Just because the game itself doesn't say shit about it doesn't make it an Easter egg, Fromsoftware has always been vague with its quests and items
