first one i seen with fully destructible terrain was X: COM Apocalypse. not fully destructible though. way to much of it though. using explosives in tenement housing could collapse the entire building. not only causing the deaths of many of your own, but the deaths of many innocents. which would end up with you losing favor with many factions. plus you had to pay for damages, if i remember right. you could even cave in floors as a legit strategy. that was actually a really interesting game. if extremely difficult. the best strategy i could come up with was playing Vigilante when i wasn't up to my neck in Aliens. as a lot of the stuff you could acquire on those missions sold for really good prices. not sure i could ever manage the game on anything above the easiest setting though. as i would tend to lose the game before the first day was even over. then my save got corrupted when i was getting close to actually beating the game on the easiest difficulty. after that i just couldn't summon the willpower. but as far as i've seen that is the best version of those games out their. for it's pure variety of stuff to do and complex systems to overlooks

I haven't bought a pokemon game since Moon spent the first two hours wasting my time with NPCs who have nothing to say but refuse to shut up. I tried. I really, really tried. But my patience was already tested when it took half an hour of unskipable cutscenes bogged down with vacuous monologuing dragging the pace to a crawl before it deigned to allow me my choice of starter. That said. I never got on the Palworld hype train. I'm prepared to believe it is probably a better Pokemon game than pokemon is, but when the marketing relied so heavily on the idea of slaughtering the critters for food and enslaving them for arms manufacturing I decided it was 4edgy8me.

Not a fan of Pal World, but the case pisses me off if Nintendo had their way, any competition would be illegal. Main thing is them establishing legal president about anything and everything. As long as you are not using proprietary source code, i don’t see why you should be aloud to Copy-write game mechanics. If thats the case theres no reason to develop games going forward. And on that matter Nintendo owes allot of back pay to allot of atari, and pc devs, for all the game mechanics that established Nintendo. Even if you want to argue gamefreaks position in the suit. I played a pc EXE about conquering and collecting monsters before poke’mon, neo pets and Digimon.

Alone in the Dark also had a monstrous dog jump-scaring you by smashing through a window. The similarities are suspiciously numerous. Also, don't forget that RE had a four extra years of game technology progress behind it. Four might not sound like much, but in the early to mid 90s, 3D graphics on PC were advancing at an insane rate, and the 3Dfx VooDoo graphics card, the first that many PC gamers ever owned, was released in the middle of that period. AitD was a technical marvel at the time, one of the first PC games with fully animated 3D characters, two years before the first consumer-grade 3D accelerator card.

Gamefreak is actually in trouble there technology is not up to date, small number of employees, and I think they are rushing the games cause if they don’t they would probably not last, financially, to work all the bugs out of Scarlet and Violet and they done updating the game and still not fixed all the bugs. Also as a side note they claim that pokemon is more accessible then ever and while the franchise is more accessible then ever but the games are not while Palworld game is actually very accessible being on PC, Xbox, and now PlayStation

i think i need to sue nintendo, they copied my life. i have cats as pets, i have had dogs, even chickens, and other creatures at one point, i also had a mother, and a father that was (thankfully) gone before i can remember, we lived in a house, and i went on an adventure to other towns. i even got shoes eventually, and a bike. pokemon is a copycat of my life! anyone know a good lawyer
(yeah i'm being sarcastic, but seriously, pokemon is more a copy of my life then palworld is a copy of pokemon. and yes all the above is true)

Gameranx, to be real with ya. Idk if you had this video planned all along.
As the timing is pretty perfect, 2 days after the ''opposite'' video of ''. copycat Games NOBODY ASKED FOR''.
If you got it from one of the comment that suggested this very thing - this video.
It would be cool if you gave them a shoutout, the credit.
As it would be kinda silly, agreed To make these very vids abt shameless and copycats, iiiiif. you did the same.
I'm not saying. I'm just saying. uknowImean Anyways. love y'all!

10: 19 oh my God, I’m so happy to see someone talking about the Harvest Moon series! The series is running under a new title called Story Of Seasons, because the dev Marvelous had issues with rights when Marvelous chose to move their localization division from Natsume Inc. to Xseed Games.
Natsume then started developing their own games, but they are not good at all. And I’m so sad that what they did to the legacy. But if you wanna play the real harvest moon games they’re now called story of seasons.

At number 3: Vince Zampella and Jason West did not just switch to EA as you make it sound like. They got kicked out of the developer company Infinity Ward by Activision because Activision wanted the Call of Duty franchise to go in another complete direction than what West and Zampella wanted (Such as Activision allowing other developers like Sledgehammer games to develope Call of Duty games. So Activision used their power over Infinity Ward and basically fired them from their own company.

Hey I want to help you out with your number 9 comparison Pokemon's Superior Copycats' are non other than:
Monster Sanctuary and Cassette Beasts the former being a familiar taming game with various skill trees and a plethora of team building strategies that make combat deep and complex.
The latter being a slick and stylish beast taming game where there are various quests to take on in a world teeming with fresh and cool monsters to fight with a wonderful soundtrack.

Saying Palworld is a copycat that does better than Pokemon is absurd. The two have more differences than similarities, and at least half of the latter are due to the developers blatantly copying designs. They don't even have the same feel, which can't be said for the other entries. Throw in that those devs are notably shadier than Nintendo (undisclosed use of AI, for example, and it honestly doesn't deserve a place on the list even if it were closer to how Pokemon is.

The saddest thing about Cities Skyline, is that the sequel is absolute trash and has all the hallmarks of a game that was rushed out the door - for no reason, mind you, as they had zero pressure to release it in a barebones state when the original was still pumping out dlc - and that is essentially killing the franchise.
CS 1 is actually still far and above better than the sequel by every metric available, so I guess Paradox went EA on that one to the letter lol

Instead of suing copy cat games why not compete Big companies have all the money in the world, all original assets, brand value and worldwide popularity but still they choose to waste time in legal battles instead investing that wasted time in improving their own products which would have given some competitive edge over their competitors (the guy's not even an actual competitor in front of you. The feeling sucks man.

Stardew Valley was actually heavily inspired by that and Animal Crossing. among others. i think they even used to have a full list. the creator just seemed to have a bunch of favorite games and the knowledge to create the perfect mashup. now if only Yankovich had those skills. his Polka stuff is pretty awesome. but if he could do it at this guys level his greatest hits collections would just be those

Honestly, I wish Stardew had done so much more. Purchasing your spouse with gifts is THE MOST cynical video game mechanism, and it need to GO! Howsabout shared interests, enjoyable interactions, and conversations that reveal similar values, like the way real non-sociopaths find their spouses Instead of, y'know, glorified prostitution. I will give you these gold bars if you will be my friend.

the reason that pissed off the pokemon company is not because the similarity, but that palworld breaks the exclusivity of pokemon for nintendo only. they wanted to monopoly the pokemon game to only be played on their own consoles. it's not wrong, it's their own original stuff. but they also can't complain if gamers want similar game on other platforms too. something's gotta give.
reply

Palworld is better because you don't have to play on nintendo or deal with nintendos greed and usuary practices. I hope they lose the lawsuit. It's like having a patent on cars and suing boatmakers.
If a company refuses to make games available on all platforms, they shouldn't be able to claim patent rights on a game on a platform they don't support.

Chat we can't let him get away with disrespecting devil may cry 4 like that flawed game that's archaic just going through the same areas in a non interesting way yea because you suck at the game and don't have a high skill set falcon of course you'd think so. This man just shat on DMC 4. we know he never played on any difficulty past normal.

It used to be that to copie and mimic the things you admire and make something simular the greatist tribute of honer to the original work!
This is sadly in now only seen as sort of fraude.
If Nintendo was smart they would hire the people of Palworld or merge so they would have better games
Its called An hommage

Killswitch is one of the most PS2-ass looking game of all time. I remember playing it quite a bit back in the day.
I think the first game I saw with cover shooting was Operation Winback on N64 but Killswitch did it better and made it the entire gameplay hook. Winback was an MGS clone with cover shooting.
