EA is a joke, and not even a funny one.
That CEO should be fired, he couldnt be more out of touch with reality, this is a VERY weak and transparent attempt at thought implementation.
Not the kind of transparency that the game industty and community TRULY craves. At this point we realise you (devs)are lying to our faces and you continue to keep treating us like we are mentally unfit, gullible and naive, and that, time and time again, feels like an insult at this point.
Give us some damn credit, and stop trying to tell US what WE want because clearly you have no clue.
We want finished, non live service games, no battle/season pass, no cheaters.
Especially now that PSN has been down for over a day, that just tells me i need to buy a gamecube again and go back to the good old days of console gaming.
No patching nonsense needed either.
As far as i am concerned, this industry is dead.
Used to be a competitive player, quit that because there is no level playing field. WHY WOULD ANYONE PLAY A RIGGED GAME, LET ALONE PAY FOR IT

We don't crave live services, we want good content that hold us over for awhile until something new comes along, let us choose when we play and what we play, not force us to play the same game all the time but play it whenever we come home from a long day, also what's the point of live service games when we all know it will be shut down in a few years or months due to either licensing issues or bad sales, old online games back then were better then online games now because it does not force you to play online or have FOMO in the game which is also just a worse, but old online games are far in few because most are no longer online or such because of other reasons like licensing and such that modern games all have now, but some still manage at this point tbh, so yeah

Dragon Age Veilgaurd not being a live service game is not the reason why I have yet to purchase it. My reasons very between the look of characters and environments looking Plastic/lifeless and the fact that there was little to any gameplay trailers before launch. The few Cinematic trailers that I did see did not instill very much trust with where the story was heading making a long time character turn evil is just so bland of a story element that it made my interest Plummet to the level of I'll get it when it's $25 or less.

Players do not crave live services. Multi-hundred-million-dollar live service flop after live service flop, and longstanding live service games, like Destiny 2, seeing record low player counts and retention, must not be enough for these idiot executives. They're so out of touch with reality. People want quality singleplayer games. And the occasional blockbuster live service game. But it has to be a masterpiece to grab any worthwhile attention nowadays.

I don't understand this. What do you think will happen if the remake turned out to be bad You still have the original game to play. You won't lose anything with a bad remake because you still have the original game but if they don't remake the game at all, you might not have something good at all. Most of the remakes have been good anyway. . Sometimes Jake acts like the CEO of EA. Totally illogical

Every company wants their own GTA online, and honestly I think there is a lot of room for a company to come in and do something like that better than how Rockstar did it, but the problem is Rockstar started from the base of creating one of the greatest single player games of all time, whereas every other company seems to start from the base of How do we milk a fan base that doesn't exist yet

DA: V didn't sell because they waited too long to make it, and then changes the graphics to a silly looking cartoony style, completely turning off the previous player base. I'd be shocked if most of the people that bought it had even played the previous games in the series. But, yeah, lets blame it on the lack of multiplayer and exploitive games as a service crap.

i play ONE, 1, live service game at a time and when i'm finished with it i look for another. i played 3 different mmo's in the past 16/ 17 years: first runes of magic for like 2 years, (till my pc died and gave me an 2 year break from gaming in general) then sw the old republic for 7 years, (3 year break from live sevice stuff) now 2, 5 years into guild wars 2

To those saying we don’t crave live service games, you don’t, and I certainly don’t. But sadly live service games are what are getting the most attention. Most people who wouldn’t call themselves gamers play Fortnite and call of duty, and the amount of money those games make is insane and until that changes we’re stuck with this half baked formula

This game is gonna make every single publicly traded company chase its lead, leading to an even MORE aggressive mcrotransaction-infested/compromised industry.
I'm sure the story mode will be rad, obviously that's a given. But the multiplayer will certainly be a beacon of what the industry does at its worst.

Reminds me of when I worked for a big company with a lot of turnover and they'd send out a survey and everyone would put something about wanting more money, but they'd release some BS about how employees want 'work life balance' without acknowledging that starts with being able to afford the life part.

I feel like EA only sees live-service games as something people want because of FOMO and way too many people spending money on stuff they don’t need(case in point the original Horse Armour micro-transaction which begat all micro-transactions.
Admittedly I’ve bought a few things I don’t need too.

we seriously do need an hd remaster of onimusha 3. for one it's all 3-D, so they can add modern lighting, and shadows to it, as well as touch up the graphics, and two, the game comes to a 10-15 fps crawl towards the end when there's the huge fight, and there's like 15 enemies on screen at once.

Andrew Wilson is failing on purpose for sure. Why else would you look at Veilguard and say it failed from lack of live service mechanics. Did they take away his parking space or something Maybe make his private bathroom at headquarters a public bathroom Take away his company helicopter maybe

I think is funny that, on the same video, we have news from Warner announcing that they are coming back to bring single player games that was a success right after a live service disaster, and we have news from EA saying you know what, we need live service games. People should love that.

A new fallout in the near future makes sense considering a new season of the fallout show is being made as we speak. They could go a last of us approach and possibly either release a new game or a remake of fallout new Vegas after the release of the new season to boost sales. Very possible.

power play from rockstar would
be to not only release gta 6 this year but announce the release date a month or so before release. if it’s successful and the game is playable on launch it’ll not only be a big profit but restore some consumer faith that the game industry needs

Me: I don't want some uninspired generic-human-protagonist live-service crap. I want a single-player multi-elemental dragon power-fantasy.
Greedy big companies: I don't read comments online. I just look at the sales.
Passionate indie developers: What That's not us.

BF3 was the pinnacle of the franchise followed by BF4. If they can make the game just like BF3/4 with updated graphics, more particles, good maps and work right day 1 then it'll be a blockbuster.
Then release DLC expansions over the years at 30-40 bucks.

The problem with madden and collage football is the single player modes are trash so they go online to play, that’s why they think live service makes them more money! Most people don’t have good internet at home and want a good single player experience
