10 weird gaming stories of april 2021

April 2021 saw no shortage of wild gaming news stories. Here are the weirdest ones satinsangel1688: I absolutely despise loot boxes, they-re definitely gambling. Genshin Impact is a great example, not only do you have to pay for characters, you have to pay for only a chance to get the character, not to mention if you want to max out your team, like any typical gamer, you have to manage to get lucky enough to get them like 8 times. Additionally, even after maxing out the lower more common characters, you can still pull them -which is utterly useless! Serves no point - - It also feels like there-s nothing else to the game besides gambling, because doing anything in the game cost some type of currency which you always run out of and have to buy more. No real gameplay past the point of collecting them all. Ran out of story in a month. -

Hey falcon, about the Mario kart economics, what they mean is how mystery boxes give better tools to those that aren't doing so well, and weaker tools to those in the lead.
Basically, if you are broke, you are in last. The mystery box is now the government. Every so often the government gives you something to improve your standing.
However, if you are doing super well, you get less useful tools as you are in first.
This helps with the poverty issue by slowing down the person in first and speeding up the person in last, thereby tightening the pack.

I'm actually surprised that the police returned the Switch to the owner, considering that the Gothenburg police have publicly admitted to stealing items and selling them internally, but just not calling it theft; and they even have a wish list where the pigs tell others in the police force what they would want other pigs to steal and sell them. And it's not limited to the Gothenburg pig force, they are just the only ones that have admitted to it.

Imagine criticizing people for buying a game on sale, rather than questioning why new games can afford to immediately drop in price to begin with... If a sequal depended on the title selling at full price, perhaps they shouldnt drop it by 50% within the same year ( or often within the next 6 months )

The reason why games suck and loot boxes exist is because the cost of a game has not gone up in decades and the cost to make a game has multiplied. Full triple A games need to cost minimum 80 dollars if you all want to not see loot boxes and still have a fully fleshed out game with minimal bugs.

if only gamers would hit EA where it hurts, the money and not buy their games, I think they'd stop trying to monetize the hell outta their games........... but they're still gonna throw their money at them and then have the nerve to go online looking for sympathy because EA ripped them off.

If people have trouble or problems with EA and their loot boxes just don't buy their games- I don't and my world hasn't come crashing down- just boycott their games. The only thing they understand is money so hit them in their wallet.- just saying, simple to me.

As for #9 and Days Gone not getting a sequel. It could be all the logical reasons you laid out. Or, it could be that it was a subpar game with a cliche story, forgettable characters, and overall boring gameplay loops. /js

Greed is destroying everything. Release a non broken game that doesn't need several updates in the first week just to run properly and you might get some customers. Make trash and you get nothing

I like it when company's include micro transactions but it's not for loot boxes but for cosmetic purposes only. Like a bundle in cod warzone. I think bundles are a little to pricey though.
