Captain Price Nukes America Scene 4K 60FPS - Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered TheSponkomat: So. quick disclaimer, I have no idea what I just watched or what game this is or what is going on story wise. but can somebody tell me what exactly just blew up that space station? Couldn't have been a shock wave - no atmosphere, far too soon after detonation anyway. I saw some optical distortion going on. no idea what that could be on orbit. heat wouldn't do that, EMP wouldn't either. so why did that station just crumble like there was a storm all of a sudden? Maybe there's some story reason - but that better be good. ;)

The call was coming from Huston TX, but when the nuke dropped, what looks like somewhere in Georgia, it instantly killed the radio connection between Huston and the ISS? Also I get it-s for dramatic purposes but in no world would a nukes blast (currently) have that kind of power, especially considering that space is a vacuum and the lack of air would also mean a lack of a -shock wave- caused by air as we see here.

One thing that bugs me is how the nuke did anything to the ISS. You could detonate that nuke in the air directly below the ISS, and nothing would happen to it. The ISS orbits in the Thermosphere, which is the second highest point in our atmosphere (highest being Exosphere. There is not enough air to transport a shockwave to the ISS. I get it's a game, but god damn. That's grade 8 science.

I have often wondered what would happen to the missile if you put a constant stream of 5. 56 from the SAW over the top of the sub as soon as smoke came out of the launch tube. I mean they are still fairly delicate things and would the bullets bounce off? Pierce the walls or a fuel tank? Damage a solid rocket booster?
reply

It's all quite high-quality immersion (if you ignore the surviving being a bullet sponge and every enemy needing 10 shots) - until you come to the space part. There they had either the Moonfall or the Transformers guy make BS up. Love how the nuclear burst in DC somehow takes out the ISS. Fantasy physics---

Unfortunately, the effect of all this seems to be to upset and exhaust the player as much as interest or entertain them. There's a reason that big-budget movies don't rub your nose in this much trauma. Even the Terminator movies kept the future war scenes to only a couple minutes in order to not overwhelm you.
reply

EMP goes off and the player didn-t even think of looking up once to see the falling helicopters.
Also I remember if you stayed outside in that sequence eventually there-d be a helicopter that follows you around to always fall on you forcing you to go inside and continue the mission

0: 33 a belt fed weapon, i'd imagine enough high velocity lead at the beginning stages of an ICBM launch would greatly affect an ICBMs ability to get into orbit and hit it's target. Put some holes in the stabilizer fins at a minimum, perhaps punch through to a fuel tank at best?
reply

There would be no EMP in space, only gamma ray. No shockwave in space since shockwave carry out by air or any particle, and space is VOID of any air and particle except the one from nuke's mass. and i came back to this becasue MW3 2023 mission is SUCK ASS.
reply

The most the space station would have got, was maybe a little shrapnel from yhe explosion, but its so far away the likelihood one piece is coming its direction is extremely low.
And an em pukse could shut down some electrical systwms.

reply

I never really played the new modern warfare games but I don-t care I think the old MW games are the best and nothing can compare to them when it comes to call of duty. I love black ops and ghosts but they ain-t as good with the story.
reply

doesn't the shockwave only work on earth? I still don't get it, how could a shockwave from the blast travel when there is no medium in space. The ISS could've not been affected by the nuke.
reply

That nuke would have to be on a world-ending level of power to destroy the ISS via blast force rather than EMP. amongts other issues.
But damn, is this a nostalgic scene or what.

reply

Gonna be real here. we ALL hate Shepherd BUT can you really blame him? Price launched a nuke at his own forces that definitely tiggered some PTSD in Shepherd.
reply

Youre terrible at this game. You missed like 50% of your shots and you couldnt even look at the nuke. What part of dark side of the planet didnt you get?
reply

Guys I don-t even like this type of game because it-s too straight for me, but the story looks so good! I-d sacrifice some of my gay to play it. -

-Hey FoxClubNiner. I am going to point and say something serious, to develop the game's story line---
oh. I'm dead. -
Duty Calls lol

reply

White it's cool the whole space scene just wouldn't happen. You can't have a shockwave like that in space. But it's a game so we just ignore that.
reply

Lol the ISS getting blown away by the nuke completely ruins this scene. The idea that the ISS would get hit by a shockwave is laughable.
reply

Helicopters are able to land without any power, but I won't complain about that if the shock wave was able to destroy the space station xD
reply

Other than the EMP that nuke wouldn't do anything to him or the space station. Nukes are less effective in space, not more effective.
reply

Honestly, this is more horrifying than a nuke. It all works out in the game, but an EMP of that nature, in any city. in the US. oof.
reply

That was so impossible -. Not even a 500 megaton bomb which is 450 megatons bigger than the tsar bomba would have done that
reply

I love how the nuke sends a -shockwave- into space lol
like that nuke explosion is bigger then the biggest nuke ever made

reply

The only way I would have changed this scene is for ISS Control to say -Houston, this is ISS Control. Goodbye. -
reply

IRL if you shot that missile with 20 rounds of 5. 56 while it took off it almost certainly wouldnt have mad it very far
reply

I like that the wireframe of Cheyenne Mountain shows that it has Stargate Command below it. unless I'm misreading it.
reply

It always drove me insane when I played through this that as the optics died you could t use the backup iron sights.
reply

Every one thinks Price did this for the EMP effect, but in reality that astronaut once slept with Prices girlfriend.
reply

shockwaves somehow reached the ISS in 2 seconds
the nuke is too big to be real
. and again, shockwave in space
