Mortal Kombat 1 All Intros Dialogue Character Banter MK1 malakai: The only two reasons im buying this game for one the dlc with omni man and homelander and because the gameplay looks fun, alot of the chracter designs and changes are making me think that this game might suck or in the very least dissapointing, especially since kuai liang is scorpion and hanzo is smoke--- such a braindead decision

I feel like Sub-Zero and Scorpion will fight each other, which will lead to Bi-Han becoming Noob Saibot (and honestly you can kinda hear his raspy voice already) and Kuai Liang becoming Sub-Zero to lead the Lin Kuei

I definitely prefer the classic 3 step dialogue intos much more but this is definitely extremely cool with how it-s secretly the loading screen. Definitely still awesome as the intros for NRS games usually are.

I-m sorry but these suck, everything is worse, why are subzero and scorpion identical again, same with milina and kitana, there-s less characters, they-ve thrown away the new timeline for this
reply

Lots of takeaways here, but the most important to me is. Jade's a countess? Hell yeah! Still hoping she's playable. All I need is her (and Cassie as DLC) and my favorites are all in.

Thing that i don't like with reboots is that they subtract features and it makes the game feel a little bare bones or watered down. The intro dialogues were the best, they got it right in MK11.

Having Scorpion be the more levelheaded and empathetic one to contrast a more cold and ruthless Sub-Zero is a narrative choice I never thought I'd see, but it's one I definitely like.
reply

I was hyped but they dropped the ball hard on the intro dialogues compared to mk11 and injustice 2. It meant a lot to have 3 lines and not just 1 each. Kinda just lost interest.

Takahashi: Kuai Liang says I shouldn-t trust the Black Dragon.
Liu: In this, as in all timelines, the Black Dragon are scoundrels!
Also Liu: Chooses Kano as a Kameo.

Im kinda hoping Bi-han somehow found out about the previous timelines and is trying to fix it via hyperviolence. Really hope steve bloom is playing kuai Liang again.

kinda hate it that players are now forced to listen to the intros, and the short silence after they are done talking is awkward looking. mk11 did it better in my opinion

With the Fatal Blows having a dramtic camera focus when activated, and now the intros being Clashes kinda makes this feel more like an Injustice 3 than an MK game to me.
reply

I don't like the clashing it might just be me but I liked it when the characters had their own cutscene play first and then dialog in stead of just clashing for 10 years

It seems like with the loading screen being the dialogue, it seems there's still enough time in the interaction for a 1-2-1 exchange like MK11. I hope they do that.

I'm loving the direction of this new game. Love that we're getting a new story, loving all the characters returning from previous games, including Bi-Han as Sub-Zero.
reply

I'm still getting use to the awkward silence while they wait for the announcer to announce the stage. It's like watching highschool plays
reply

I feel like there-s a line of dialogue missing, because they both say something, then both go silent for an awkward amount of time.

Were those references from kenshi about the animated movie with old man sub zero? Kano was keeper of time so I-m convinced -
reply

-My Milenna is not a clone we are sisters-
-Someone has been feeding you lies-
Oh wow, what a compact dialogue here

reply

These feel far less cinematic than MK11, which was part of the charm of the intros. Still pretty cool.
