- Rain's real name isn't Rain in this timeline. His real name is Zeffeero. He finally has a name like Sub, Scorp, Noob, Reptile, and Smoke do.
- His mom, Amara, is ALIVE and is being threatened now due to Rain's betrayal.
- Liu admits that he stripped Rain of his godhood; he's no longer a son of Argus.
- There are 2 conflicting dialogues on whether or not his water powers are innate. Assuming he's no longer a demigod, it makes more sense that they are not innate.
- Rain and Havik caused destruction together in Seido because Havik wants to recreate it as Chaos Realm. This killed 500, 000 people.
- Rain now feels remorse and wants redemption. Possible he might become a good guy in the next game.

Honestly Rain seems like he-s very remorseful for what he-s done, and I feel like at least most of the intros, he had a little character arc in between his arcade ending and now, because he recognizes that he traded all he had for a brief moment of power, and now he has lost someone who was like a mother to him, his family suffers for what he did, with nowhere to go and an outcast to all realms. Rain is in a way similar to Bi-Han, but unlike him, Rain recognizes that there must be limits and ambitions lead only to destruction, and while he has learned this lesson, the empress still wants him dead, and Rain can only hope that he will be able to one day right the wrongs of the past.

Zeffeero. The intro with Kenshi. That name was the name of an overlord of Outworld back in Deception's Konquest mode when he was to defy Shao Kahn's rule and take leadership for them all. That task eventually failed, when Hotaru strip[ed him of his positioned on the walled city of Lei Chen. Now perhaps that Seido incident is like payback on Hotaru, although Zefferro, real name of Rain, took no pleasure in it compared to Havik. Overlord Zeffeero is just hardly ever remembered in Mortal Kombat history.

Even though Rain isn't exactly a hero or a good guy in this new timeline, it's good to see that he at least has some redeeming qualities, like showing regret, seek forgiveness and realize he made mistakes. A huge leap compared to his previous versions, where he felt entitled to rule Edenia and being treated as a God, all because he was a Son of Argus.

They really fixed him and making him apart of royal family and seeing how they all react to his betrayal and how he shows remorse he has really grown from a snobby half god and I feel in the next game he should be playable having him redeem himself protecting the royal family from being attacked to shown he really has changed

I honestly hope they keep to Rain feeling remorse and seeking redemption. It pays tribute to the fact that in his debut in UMK3, he betrayed Shao Kahn and joined Earthrealm, even embarking on a rogue suicide mission to kill the emperor to prove his loyalty to Earthrealm, so I hope Netherrealm stick to this.

First, they make Rain yet another stock villain in this timeline. He fights heroes for no reason other than -I want moar powaahh-.
Then, in his intros, he's apparently sorry after getting his ass whooped. Liu Kang and Geras were right, his -remorse- is far too suspicious to believe.

I love that they made one of Rain's biggest points is finding out why limits were placed on him. Never expected an amazing character arc from RAIN of all characters. Even if the arc only came from his tower ending and these small dialouge bits.

Love this take on rain, he doesn't turn 180 immediately, still got pride and arrogance but killing is probably the last thing he'll do now.
Probably set up for his redemption arc in the next game or maybe dlc.

I wish he explained what the difference between a sorcerer and mage is. Maybe it-s a natural vs learning thing cause Shang tsung calls it his birthright while rain said it took years to make it look innate.

I don't know if he's truly repentant because he said he'd accept any punishment but when he hears he can't practice magic anymore feels he's being treated unfairly. His magic is what killed a city

I am so glad to see that Rain is a good guy instead of a villain now, but the problem is that most heroes are misreading his intentions, Raiden, Liu Kang and Geras were less hostile to Rain.
