Unfortunately I'm sure. Tested twice. A little dialog box pops up saying that it ended because of the time limit on preview mode. I'm guessing the 5 hour limit is when you are actually live streaming and saving to your computer at the same time.

I bit the bullet and bought a screen capture software. It was only about $20 or so and I've used it countless times. It's super effective and easy to use, with a ton of options and it can record in 1080p. It's called iShowU

Really? I recorded longer than 5 minutes with no problem, and in fact the 5 hour limit makes sense because in the old days when we did the Hey Killer Livestream show, it would delete the file if we went longer than that.

live stream is good but the offline mode only allows five minute recordings. so i would suggest setting a timer so you can stop doing whatever you are doing and start it up again

Never use xsplit, it makes your games lag, bandicam has the annoying website at the top ezvid has a stop start crap at the bottom, I now use the one in this video

Just to let you know turns out it is 5 minutes not 5 hours unfortunately not long enough for me for most situations, its a really great tool other than that.

i found that screenflow works pretty well on macs, and if you're a let's player, it records your audio from an external mic

Yes, there is actually a setting specifically for recording games that you can select when the program first pops up.

When I use screen capture programs, I use BB Flashback Player and Recorder. They seem to work best for me.

As long as a program does multiple video tracks, it should be able to do things like this. Lightworks!
