Although this is a video about filming action, I think that the final edit would look a lot better if the camera person wasn't part of the onscreen action. This is a difficult planning procedure that is really part of immersing the viewer into the action. I don't film action videos but do lots of music live events - camera guys on stage usually end up on the edit room floor - so to speak. So angles need to be chosen carefully to keep camera operators out of the action. Probably would require your guys to do the same run over and over though.

I'd love to see the indy mogul version of the podcast 'Startup'
I know we got this with Griffin's Documentary, but what about someone starting a production company / a recurring show?
Either that or a completely zero budget show were you have to work with $100 and that's it. Cheap v. Expensive is a great start but I'd love for someone to just cheat all the systems and make an absolutely zero budget production. (Like double digits but as a series)

When I was 17, I was recruited by one of those modeling agencies as I was walking down the street. That led to me going to stunt school which then led to me jumping off of buildings for awhile. but I made more money from selling things so it never went anywhere. which is good since I've had several concussions and can barely remember anything anymore.

Man, I hate using wide angle lenses.
I'd rather be closer to the subject but I'd also prefer using tighter lenses.
Wide just seems amateurish to me. Only use them to reveal a grand location.
The widest I normally go is 24mm (S35) or 35mm equiv. (FF.
Unless Im shooting like real estate LOL or in a very very small environment

Hey Ted, I'm sure revamping Indy Mogul for the 3rd or 4th go is a real challenge, but I think you're doing a great job. This video was really entertaining and really useful for the type of work that I do, so thank you! I'm really stoked to see next week's lighting tips. Love Indy Mogul's new look and feel!

Great tips but I've one critique, I train and watch a lot of parkour and although yes you do have to cut and get creative angles it's good to cut less. Let the athletes movement speak for itself. Cutting so much makes the edit janky and cheats the power and flow the athlete trains to master.

. long lens on a steadycam circling folk is literally every Michael Bay movie. I get what Devin's saying about getting into the action, but longer lens with motion is far more dynamic than using a wide lens and getting close to your subject.

As a film maker shouldn't u have mentioned it doesn't have 24 fps in 1080p meaning u can't shoot cinematic in 1080p and u may say well there's 24 fps in 4k yeah but it also has a 1. 7 x crop and there's no dual pixel af. Don't be biased. Plz.

I wanted to be an Astronaut but i was in Special ed classes my teacher always told me i was not smart enough to do that and i would be lucky to get a job at McDonald's that really killed my Dream as a kid.

Hey, I'd love to see you guys collab with Jordy from Cinecom. net all the way in Belgium! He and his team produce some of the best tutorials with refreshing creativity and great personality.

Really good content! Getting kicked in the face to get a shot, that. that is a true filmmaker! That facility where they practice looks really cool, thank you for the info!

Did you film in 120fps? I saw some ramping, but it seemed like everything was natural. I'll be shooting a parkour video soon so this was well timed!

Spot on interview yet again. Sorry you got kicked Ted, hope you recovered, and great video. Keep up the creative work Devin, it's awesome.

i need to stop commenting before i watch the entire video. bring on the BAYHEM dude is so on point. idk why anyone hates on bay he's dope.

Really love the content but I think the editing was a bit much at the end. Stunts are much more appreciated when you do long takes.

Thanks for the instructional vids. Your journey reminds me of my own as I begin the process this year (after years of set backs.
