This is somewhat unrelated, but I remember on my dad's windows 98 machince from years ago it had some simple puzzle games. I can't remember the name, but it was like -game collection- or something. IIRC there was something like 6 to 8 games. I remember two specifically, one was a -genetics- game where you had these cartoon animals that had their arms, bodies and heads mixed up by some mad scientist and you had to unscramble the animals to let them go. So, the lobster needed only lobster parts etc. There was another game which where you were a jewel thief and you had to navigate around a map getting the jewels before an exit would open up, while dodging enemies. Do you remember this at all? Might make for a good video.
Edit: The package was -Microsoft entertainment pack: the puzzle collection- and the one game I remembered was -mixed genetics. - Might be a good short video topic.

This collection was interesting UNTIL I SAW the -Krome- logo, what do i mean with that?
Krome Studios = Blade Kitten
Blade Kitten = Bad platformer with god awful glitches and bugs, and even if the game is fully released now (meaning the Episode 2 is out, yes is one of those episodic games) the second episode its even worse than the first one and IT DIDNT FIXED ANY OF THE GLITCHES OR BUGS THAT THE FIRST EPISODE HAD.
I mean its a good looking and cool arcade compilation, but i think you should could have i dunno like 4 default games from the get go, and then some kind of -option- to -buy- more arcade cabinets without expending too much money like a point system like you said the Microsoft Points, but right when i saw the Krome logo i knew this was doomed to be lackluster, dont get me wrong its a nice collection and all but kinda luckluster and way too much money to expend with.

Today, the Atari Flashback Classics disks from AtGames are a better deal. and -those- will be kind of marginal for many, to tell the truth (because, unlike the physical mini-consoles, they lack any game encumbered with a non-Atari license, which eliminates many of the best 2600 titles and even a few of Atari's best arcade cabinets. But it's great having Asteroids, Missile Command, Black Widow and Major Havoc, and even Tempest is playable though with an XBox controller it's not what it could be.
Midway Arcade Origins for the 360 is XBox One-compatible through the backward compatibility program, and if you can find a used copy somewhere, it's a good collection--though some of the games there do have controller-adaptation issues as well. Still, it's worth the cost just to get Robotron: 2084 and Joust.

I want to start collecting classic video games but I'm torn. I'm note sure to go with the releases or start collecting the old consoles. This games room looks really cool. I really like the fact that there acually linked to an account unlike my wii virtual console games. If my wii ever breaks I cant play the virtual console games I got even I get a new wii. I did but an NES with a new pin connector but only lasted a few months. Not a very assuring for the first classic system I ever bought.

shame that when they re-release stuff like this they want to charge a fair amount of change per game. if you want to play a bunch of arcade games on one home console you're better off tracking down one of the many compilations that were released on PS2 and original Xbox (even GameCube, like the Taito Legends, Capcom Collections, Intellivision Lives and even some of the SNK compilations. if they were to give you a half dozen games for $5 then it might be worth it, but $3 to $4 a pop? come on

So really you are just paying for a menu then: ( I really really love the concept of this but. you see people who are into retro gaming probably know a fair bit about emulation and as lovely as that looks and sounds 200 dollars does seem a little steep. Especially as we have things like the humble bundle now where you can get 5 or 6 much more modern games for a single dollar. I don't know. I just wish my money wasn't so tight at the moment -_-

-Turban84 The emulators aren't usually illegal, it's the game ROMs, ISOs and CHDs themselves. If you don't own the game, you technically shouldn't grab the downloaded copy.
The abundance of ROMs comes from the lack of response from companies taking serious legal action. Abandonware and other such terms don't exist, legally, yet many do it anyway.

Seems sadly that Microsoft abandoned Game Room as my Xbox Live has not had a new pack in a long time.
I think it has been at Pack 13 forever. :(
And I agree it should have had online play were you can interact with your friends and watch them play in your arcade.
Really wish they would keep putting out games for Game Room.

This seems incredibly needless considering the price of 200 as you said vs buying the old classic packs of these games already released on older consoles. I mean you can probably get all or most on the PSOne or 2 meaning all on the same console. You don't get the neat menu but I think the cost difference doesn't make up for that

I remember really getting into this hardcore. but only a few games I really bought and didn't have much of a reason to keep playing it sadly after a while. Still when they released Venition blinds for the 2600 on there I was blown away. It's literally a game where you just close blinds, why charge 3 bucks for that?
