Oh man, I definitely respect your opinion, but I do hope one day you go back and give FTL one more proper chance. It's balls-hard, sure, but if I can beat it (on easy) then anyone can (on easy.
But that is kinda the key. don't let the 'easy' designation fool you. It's a roguelite and and IS out to get you. but it is far from impossible. Choose easy mode until you can win regularly, it's no copout.
My top 3 for this decade would be the two Portals and FTL, basically.

I personally found X-com to be very. Clunky and boring. The mechanics were sometimes super frustrating (VIP getting poisoned the moment aliens arive, missions failed) and when I got my hands on Xenonauts, I kinda lost interest in x-com completely. Xenonauts just does it way better in my opinion, with some massive mod support to allow for massive customization in the game.
For the rest I'd say, I pretty much agree with the list, there's some really nice games in there: D

To be honest with you I don't like you're top, I think AC3 and Walking Dead should be on the top with Far Cry and Borderlands 2 of course, also I don't see Hitman absolution and Medal of Honor, look how I wished to be a perfect top 10:
10. Darksiders 2
9. Spec Ops: The Line
8. Hitman: Absolution
7. Medal of Honor: Warfighter
6. Diablo 3
5. Borderlands 2
4. Dishonored
3. AC3
2. Far cry 3
1. Walking Dead, BUT each gamer have different opinions, right?

I am late to this party with the question I have, but I am curious after watching your 17 best of 1990-1999 and 2000-2009 videos. In this video, Black Mesa gets an honorable mention and HL2 topped your list in the 2000-2009, however HL1 doesn't appear to have made any lists. Is there any particular reason you chose Black Mesa over HL1, or was it simply due to this being focused over 1 year instead of a decade?

'Borrowing', or 'renting', implies you plan to return the item without retaining a copy. 'Sharing' is the justification people make when they've installed a copy of a game for free, and keep it.
There are plenty of cheaper alternatives out there with gameplay comparable, if not superior, to most triple-A titles on the market. Nobody said gaming had to be an expensive hobby.

This is a great list. The only thing I want to know is if when they will make Borderlands 3. I seriously played the crap out of Borderlands 2, got literally the best equipment (The Bee + 2 Critical Conference Calls) and cant bring myself to play it any more, despite how much I love it.

Glad you mentioned Fall of Cybertron. That game did the brand more than justice, if you like G1 Transformers or even knew the guist of the characters you would love that game to pieces.
Sadly the next game in the series went down a bad path.

I wonder how people blame the reviewer in EVERY single video of top lists for not mentioning their favourite games, although EVERY single reviewer says at the beginning of his review that this list will be based on his own opinion: /

if you didn't notice call of duty is for the casual gamer because there is really nothing to it besides shooting a gun and getting shot. there is nothing good about it except multiplayer which gets really old after about 10, 000 kills
