I love how the sims franchise has MANY unrealistic things such as vampires, witches, were wolves, fairies, sponge bathing on public lots, putting cars in your pocket, lack of toddlers, etc, but when confronted as to why men get barely any clothes they respond with -realism-. What sims game has been 100% real? Ugh, I hate the Sims Studio's laziness. I prefer a nice blend of realism and unrealism, but not when it's being used as an excuse why certain genders/age groups barely get clothes. Anyway, I enjoyed random sponge bathing in TS2 wish it was in TS3 and TS4 (if it's there I never saw it.

I had the Sims 2 Deluxe edition and man. it had late night nd wedding sets and it was so nice to have a good start. I added seasons, university and my poor computer was dying yet the game wasn't as laggy as Sims 3 can be. Then I added some crazy cc and let me tell you, even though it was lagging, it was awesome. I made some sort of rpg dungeons and each member of my family had to go through different rooms and survive. I had witches, plantsim and werewolves, etc abd I also made a tavern - Sims 2 had awesome cc to get crazy creative. It was surely the funniest game.

I love your Sims reviews and plays. I grew up playing Sims, since the original Sims ages ago and Sims2 was really exciting when it first came out as it looked totally different from the original Sims. Sims3's been fun enough but it's a bit disappointment when it comes to having so many rabbit holes. Even in the original Sims, you can do shopping in a building and wander around, order at the restaurants but Sims3 is like you go in and vanish there almost everywhere. That makes going out really boring.

The reason you couldn't buy food is because your sims don't live Downtown. There was a bug where sims couldn't buy food in other neighbourhoods that was fixed at some point.
And the yellow thing was cologne! You click your sim and they spray it on and they spurt flowers and hearts for a while. It's supposed to boost chemistry but mostly it just looks hilarious.
Thanks for doing TS2 let's plays even if they're not reviews. We need to educate these TS3 whippersnappers.

You are reminding me that as far as Sim games go, The Sims 2 was pretty legendary. It really was probably the best balanced experience out of all of them. There hasn't been a The Sims game I haven't liked, I think they are all good, but this one is the least complicated and contains the best polish. I do like that The Sims 4 is more of a throwback to The Sims 2, it's just a bummer that some of the detracting elements have created a lesser experience in some ways.

I have to say, after playing it myself also, the Sims 2 npcs are so much more full of life and spark than those in sims 3, much more so than the borg mind androids in Sims 4. I don't know if it is the higher quality animations, or the fact that an actual human hand was involved in constructing the npcs. But with regards to the quality of the sims themselves, excluding physical customization, Sims 4 was a light-year step back.

Seeing this makes me really wish _The Sims 4_ had struck a better middle ground between 2 and 3. It would-ve been so cool to have every venue be fully interactive and decently popular in a freely roam-able world, especially if it managed to run well. But no, it ditched nearly everything introduced in 3 before waddling off to do its own thing-

I always hated how the entire neighborhood freezes in time when you play. I had a situation once where my Sims had kids, I had them move out and played with the kids until at some point they grew older than their parents. Total immersion killer. The Sims 3 is still hands down the best title in the series.

I really miss turn ons and turn offs in the other sims games. it makes finding partners and building relationships way more fun. especially in sims 4 relationships suck and sims are pretty much indifferent to one another. one of the many reasons I stopped playing it.

i like how in the sims 2 sims are more out and doing things unlike the sims 3 and how the have more fights lol. its more realistic in my opinion cause people get in fights all the time. i hope the sims 4 is more like that with a crap load more sims in our worlds!
