Horray, I figured you'd get at least some enjoyment out of it, as it did look good!
A shame that the test drive part sucks, though, as that was one of the neat sounding reasons I suggested it for - getting to test drive the car before and after you fix/upgrade it, thus getting a tangible feeling of getting stuff done and making the in-game world better, sounded really satisfying.
Still, it sounds like if they tightened up the objective details, swapped out their current help section for a better greenhorn friendly one, maybe add in a street race or chop shop mode as DLC (assuming they can get that driving section fixed. yeah, this jalopy sounds like it's got some real potential.
Enjoyed the review, and see you next time!

I also have this little game, and have to say that the game is a bit of a hit and miss though.
The graphics are quite descent though, and that says quite enough for a budget title.
But gameplay. oh boy! Some jobs are way too easy while other jobs can be exactly identical, with the only difference being the color or the model of the car.
But i'm definately not complaining, since the game is interesting and dirt cheap anyway.
I just wish there were more devs who would dare and come up with such games instead of the mainstream bread and butter titles.

As a professional technician myself, I find what you say about this to appear accurate, judging by the play-through videos I've seen.
Just simple enough to give you a good idea of what's involved with car maintenance, probably even good enough to use as a teaching tool for people who want to learn more about their vehicles, or even how to do basic maintenance themselves. This probably would've been a good addition to the introduction class I took when I went to my Technical school.
I'm dying to get my hands on this game.

The problem with this game is that everything works as is it should. Now if it had instances where some bolt got stuck because it's rusted in place, and you rounded off the head because your socket wouldn't go all the way on, so you welded a nut to it, and then snapped the bolt off, and then had to use a left hand drill bit to drill it out; all while under a car with your back killing you, dirt falling in your eyes, and being covered in grease, grime and general nastyness, then yea, it would be realistic.

not trying to tell you how to make videos (youre obviously great at what you do due to your successes) but just as a long-time fan i gotta say I personally hope these 'quickies' won't be that common, i found your normal reviews to be a bit short and I really hoped to see longer reviews, just my opinion. your videos are awesome. thanks.

Oh man, the second i saw this on Steam i bought it over the nostalgia for Gearhead Garage!
I've been enjoying the hell out of it so far, but yeah, it's a shame you can't really buy some junker cars to fix up and customize. Hope that might be added sometime later on via updates or something.

It's on Steam at $3. 74 for another 10 hours. Wasn't all that interested in it from the generic name and original price, but I gave it a second look, checked out a couple reviews, and decided to get it when it brought back some fond memories of Gearhead Garage.

From all of the gearhead games I've seen this is the only one that is alive and in good standing. Street Rod 3 and Street Legal might make a slow comeback but they don't show any promise. I really wish Street Legal wasn't so bad.

After being sent a copy of Farming Simulator I have an aversion to 'S' word. This game looks a hell of a lot more professionally put together. Congratulations for not making any cheap jokes about the mechanics of the game! =D
