LGR Maybe you can help me. I have been looking for this game for a decade and a half now. I only had it as a floppy disk demo. But it is a global war game in which you can choose any of the countries and try to conquer as much as you can. The game had the whole worldmap, but built from small squares, each country had his own colour.
The only units that were made were white tanks, and they were made at the major cities of a country. You would conquer a land if you occupied all of their major cities with one of your tanks.
I have played it a looot, but it being a demo, it had a set amount of days. The most I have conquered was the whole west of europe with The Netherlands.
Please can someone help me find this game?

For me the first type of these turn based strategy games was Falklands on the C64. It had awefull graphics, but it was a lot of fun to play. Later I also found a copy of empire for the c64 and I played that alot. It wasn't until I got Civilization on the amiga years later that I played that kinda games again. (Though I also played Defender of the Crown on C64 but thats more of a mixture of different games styles as it also has more action based mini games.

I'd rather play Dragonforce.
I remember in high school hearing some kids talking about Dragonforce. I had to do a double take. Why are they referencing an old yet awesome Sega Saturn game?
They weren't. Apparently it's some metal band, I still don't know. All's I know is the saturn game came first. XD

I LOVE THIS GAME!
When I was a kid we got a CD from a bin called -Top 10 Strategy PC Games-. It has SO MANY great games, many of which were shareware versions, but amazing none the less. This, Gazillionaire, WinWar 2, Orion, so many names I've forgotten, but many more fantastic titles.

It is weird I have been watching LGR non stop for a while but I never guessed that you liked CK2. I know you have said multiple times that you never plan out your reviews but I hope you can one day do a major in-depth analysis on Paradox like what you did for Maxis.

really bugs me when someone misspels an english word ( in this case court) and it becomes a dutch word that means something way different ( short, in this case. I know it's irrational but now anytime clint says king arthurs kort i understand it as king Arthur is short.

have you ever played Lords of the Realm II? My dad had one hand so it was pretty much turn-based strategy when i was very young, either way that's the only game he ever taught me to play. Mideval strategy game from interactive & sierra in 1996. I still play it.

Have you tried Warsong on the Sega Genesis? (Der Langrisser in Japan) That is a medieval fantasy / role playing game that will absolutely kick your ass, but it's fun and addictive. I definitely feel a sense of accomplishment for having beaten it, too.

For years I wanted to play defender of the crown on our Amiga as a kid but every single time I would get it copied from someone I could never get it to work. I still have never played it. The fake intro to 3 stooges kind of felt like it was mocking me

You know, I always believe that my maiden voyage with strategy games was Age of Empires 2, but then I remember that I played Lord's of The Realm 2, long before I played any other RTS. Though the first one I saw being played was the original Warcraft.
