Would it have been a standalone movie, maybe called the bouncer or whatever, I would have considered it as not the best, but at least a pretty good and watchable action/comedy movie. As a remake (or homage or whatever) it was absolutely, ABSOLUTELY dissapointing. Besides a guy called Dalton, sitting at a bar drinking coffee (what was he paid for, btw, a club called Road House and the 5 sec. cameo of a small restaurant called Double Deuce it had nothing, absolutely nothing in common with the original. It's been nothing more than a marketing gag. Obviously a clever one.

Theres two kinds of films:
The Oscar Baits made for the people of high, exquisite taste and ceremonious critiques. And theres just casual, made for those who can watch a movie once in a while before the have to go back to work the next day.
This film was not made for the former.

Looper gets it! People just over think movies these days. This had that care-free vibe of 80s action movies. This was just a perfect throwback to that beautiful era of action movies. There should be more of this style out there. We'll done to all involved! I've watched it 3 times already!

I persevered for 50 excrutiating minutes, before having to turn it off.
It's an abject lesson on how NOT to make a movie. and how to ruin a classic's reputation.
Stop making cringy reboots and regain some originality for crying out loud.

It was too over the top fake. Mcgregor walking around the whole time like a cartoon character was too much. The band kept playing when the whole bar was fighting, and that stunt at the end on the boat wasn't realistic at all.
reply

Mcgregor was basically a gta video game character cops cant touch him, guns dont killl him, boat crashes don't kill him, knives don't kill him

This movie could be named The Bouncer and it will be better to try to hold to the people nostalgia about the original Road House movie

a remake done right
Are you high. This is a prime example of why remakes are horrible and pointless cash-grabs with no substance

So tell me this, why did it go directly to prime video instead of being released in the theaters Because it sucked. That's why.

Enjoyed it enough to watch it 3x so far. Its more of an appreciation to the original than a remake. Good fun movie to watch
