Biggest Easter Eggs In Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

I did think the plot of the antagonist was not as deeply woven as previous antagonists in the series, and the same goes for Blackbeard. You'll notice that the first antagonist actually turned into a character with just a deeper story as you see his reasoning, while the second antagonist Davy Jones presents an even more philosophical and deep character, wanting to be re-united with Calypso.
That trend of deeper reasoning leads to a story of characters at odds, rather than classic boring good vs. evil. Sparrow himself was a sometimes good sometimes bad mostly witty manipulator, and in this movie he just seems like a symbol of that former ad-libbed legendary performance.
I thought Will and Elizabeth would be in the movie and they weren't. I'm not dissing the movie but noticing the plot simplification trend and lack of quick-wit as sequels get made.
Should have let her go when the Pearl and the Dutchman swerved on Beckett at the end of 3 and made his ship a firework.

Tia Dalma gave Jack the compass, and did anyone noticed Barbossa didn't get hit in the way down and the other guy did, I want Barbossa back, darn it! And yes they turn witty Jack into a jester. I liked Paul McCartney's cameo, the rest was more the same and fillers that the film didn't need ( like someone mentioned: where Jack got the clothes ). If all curses are broken with the trident, then in the post credit scene: why the residual slime from Davy Jones appeared under Will and Elizabeth's bed? Kinda messed up there and why Will was turning into a fish if he's carrying on with his duty as ferryman to the dead, didn't Calypso mentioned that Jones' turned into a monster because he failed in his duty? Big continuity doodoo!

The mayonnaise reference goes back to a cut line of dialogue between Jack and Pintel in Curse of the Black Pearl. In the cave at Isla de Muerta, Jack walks into the cursed pirates and struggles to find the word Parley. Ragetti helps Jack say the word, and Pintel says, Damn the mutton heads that thought up the word, Parley! Jack responds saying, That would be the French. That was in the film, but the next lines were cut for time. Jack continues, The inventors of Mayonnaise. Pintel says, I like mayonnaise! and thus the Easter egg is set up. It was an inconsequential couple of lines that trimmed down a two-hour film, but lives on in the fans because of the DVD extras.

So. are they doing their own universe for the movies and not going by the books, because in the Price of Freedom which is a prequel to the movies. Beckett actually gave Jack the Wicked Witch. (aka what is now called The Black Pearl) when he worked for the East India Trading Company as a merchant. Jack refused to deliver slaves and released them instead, which resorted in Beckett burning down the Wicked Witch. (Which is why the Black Pearl looks the way it does because when Jack made the deal with Davy Jones and Jones brought it back, it was charred from the fire)

I feel divided on this movie. On one hand I was excited to be seeing a new pirates installment after seeing that piece of shit on strangers tides but on the other hand something feels off about this movie. Like IDK the things that I loved about the original trilogy is it was fun and had heart but these last two installments feel like cash grabs. I also hated they killed barbossa and the new characters felt rushed. I wanted more jack sparrow too lol old why people are complaining about his performance he seemed the same to me

Will Turner is still immortal.
How?
After he became the captain of the Flying Dutchman, Will gave his heart (literally) to Elizabeth. In 5, after the curse was broken, he should have already been dead (because of the lack of a heart) but he's not. So technically, Will Turner, if not his whole crew, should still be immortal. You guys should look it up 'cuz I didn't really search into it. Just thought of it one night.

How he got his wardrobe and similar things mentioned seems like something the writer would think of as a backstory to ground the character, but not like it should be in the movie.
A good writer would write about the man he came to be, not about the things he came to own. I can't help but thinking this franchise is purely slapstick and Sparrow is just a clown now. Gonna pass on this one for now, there are too many (good) movies this summer.

I liked the movie. But wasn't the best. I liked 2 I thought that was the best to me. Anyways SPOILER: I seen the post ending credit. guys. there's not going to be a 6 movie. The adventure is pretty much done. Of captain jack sparrow. Yeah we did see Davy Jones. But my theory is. he turned back to his human form and his arm is still there. OR he could be half man and half (undead) could be split. Who knows. I know there won't be. The curse is gone.

It's a very hidden easter egg, but once I heard jack say it in this movie, I couldn't stop smiling.

Your explanation for the end credit scene is as good as any. I was surprised that no scene was offered of Jack enduring marital bliss with his new wife and beautiful children. They missed what would have been pretty funny. As it is The scene did smack of foreshadowing BTW the Mayo was brought up before, during the big fight scene in the cave in Black P. right?
