It's funny how many movies, books, and other mediums of storytelling have approached the subject of thought police. You could say that they exist now with all the. psychologically maladjusted people who want to limit, or even outright stop, free speech. Like the genius who came up with the Free Speech = Hate Speech lunacy. I'm sorry, stating an opinion, or even more so stating a FACT, is NOT hate speech.

Sunshine? Ok, if you don't believe in physics. Idiotic film. We are expected to believe a human can sit in a ship, close to the sun, for 7 years and still be alive? REALLY? And a nuclear bomb is gonna re-ignite the sun? And no scientific explanation as to why the sun would be going out? Sunshine was pure fantasy with no SF content. Only The Core was a worse SF film.

The main reason about that this movies never got the big blockbuster status is because, these kind of movies are too intelligent to understand and most people are idiots who want everything already digested Predestination is such a great movie with Ethan Hawke which one of the busiest actors in Hollywood and one of the most underrated ones too

Ffs. as much as I liked the video DO NOT put Star Wars into Sci-Fi. There''s s nothing scientific about a tale of magical force.
Every Star Wars fan understands it is not Scientific Fiction but epic fantasy saga in the cosmos setting. I love Sci-Fi, I love SW, but do not put Darth Vader in the first second of video about SF ffs.

I've seen four of those seven.
Another Earth was wonderful, would have been even better if it was a Lars von Trier film.
Moon was genuinely new stuff, very entertaining and a special kind of dystopia.
Equilibrium is very entertaining, seen it at least twice.
Snowpiercer. not so good.

Moon and equilibrium are two of my favourite films (equilibrium being in my top 10 among SciFi greats like serenity (why is this not on the list, star wars, galaxy quest and spaceballs. As for the others I think I'll give them a watch when I find them (except for sunshine I've got that one already.

Equilibrium was one of my favorite movies when it came out. It introduced me to Christian Bale who is one of my favorite actors, mostly due to his performance in The Prestige, American Psycho and, of course, as Batman.

I agree with all those great lists. They're all great! However, I would like to add some titles:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Triangle
The Fall
Source Code
Oblivion
The Fountain
In Time

reply

Moon is soooooo underrated as is Sam Worthington. Equilibrium is amazing. Christian Bale is a total kick ass, fascinating twist on a familiar story. Predestination was intriguing. Snowpiercier was a big surprise!
