Box Office Bombs That Are Actually Worth A Watch RevTn: Warrior, Dread, Scott Pilgrim are the must watch on that list. I did not see Free Fire but I will. I would say Jupiter Ascending over Tomorrowland for underrated sci fi. Maybe Im alone in that.
Other movies I always recommend that I dont hear a lot about, The Last Samurai, Blood Diamond, The Book of Eli, Kingdom is Heaven (extended or ultimate only. Equilibrium and District 9 and Chappie are fairly popular now. but those. And speaking of Nick Nolte and moving films with Warrior in the title, another one, Peaceful Warrior. Or the book The way of the Peaceful Warrior. Haha, okay Im done.

Tomorrowland was terrible. It was supposed to be a bright, fun movie about an alternate retro-future like The Jetsons. Instead we got about 5 minutes of flashbacks of the actual Tomorrowland, and dreary slog through the real world, then an empty and broken Tomorrowland. Ughh. And this was supposed to be a kids movie? There are at least two scenes where police officers get disintegrated by the bad robots like it was nothing. They were treated like disposable Stormtroopers. And this is family entertainment? Not even worth torrenting.

good picks,
i personally recommend those i have actually watched
Dredd - delicious violence
Scott Pilgrim - How any comic and video game nerd couldn't enjoy this movie is beyond me
Warrior - a very powerful visceral emotional movie + Kurt Angle
Premium Rush - which i thought was a dumb movie until i watched it
Freefire - was fun but only seen it once, need to re-watch and see if its worth seeing more than once
People really should watch better movies in the cinema so that great movies get made

i thought Dredd was great. better than original one tho. and Lena did great as villain. probably wasnt that good to many others cuz it went straight to the point and to capture Lena. original had story while Dredd didnt have any story behind it but very briefly story. many others might feel left out but i think its great cuz we ALREADY know the story from original one anyway so why do we need other one with story. we already know who Dredd character is.

Tomorrowland could have been great with an even ok script, but definitely wasnt worth watching. It deserves its universally bad reviews. It's great for any introductory writing professors who need to show their students something so they can pick apart all the rudimentary issues in the script. The directing wasnt bad, but almost everything else was. The rest of this list is awesome, though.

Premium Rush's trailer came out 2 years before the movie. That is a list that you need to make. Trailers that came out super early or changed before the movies release. Like Project Almanac. The first trailer had a bunch of young kids at least 12 or under and then 1-2 years later, another trailer for the movie came out with the exact same shots, but with teens in stead of preteens.

Scott Pilgrim had a few missteps, but there was a lot that it did right, and it's very much worth watching.
Dredd was practically flawless. It did everything right that the horrible Stallone version did wrong, and I'm convinced that the only reason it bombed at the box office is because people remembered how bad the Stallone one was, and stayed away.

I have seen and loved/very much enjoyed: Scott Pilgrim, Dredd, Premium Rush, and Popstar. But I disagree that they would be more successful at the box office today, or should be. Sometimes movies make more money from home viewing, and thats ok. It is a shame that everyone wants everything for free though, thousands of people can work on one movie.

Apart from Tomorrowland (which ironically I DID see in theaters, I love all the other movies and own them on Bluray (except TL and Free Fire. In fact Warrior is among my favorite films, and I couldn't stop recommending Popstar to my friends all year in 2017.

Tomorrowland one of the best science fiction films of the last ten years! Are you joking? Tomorrowland was trash. It had an utterly nonsensical story line, COMPLETELY on the nose and overly preachy with its message, and honestly sub-par performances.
