3 Best And 3 Worst Things In Aquaman Brains: Aquaman ( Momomoman ) Did NOT feel like breath of fresh air. It felt like being in a stalled elevator, with the same bad song playing over and over. Sadly, the elevator cable never breaks, which would have been an additional improvement.
I kept expecting Jar Jar Binks to show up as well.
The three(ish) best things about Momomoman were:
(1) No witty dialogue, zero catchy or memorable 1 liners so it was easy to forget.
(2) Didn't pay to see it
(2. 5) One fight scene in movie that lasted 1 hr 34 minutes, they just changed the backgrounds & fight locations.
(2. 75) Every woman in theatre drooled over Momomoman, while simultaneously lyi. reassuring their husbands and/or boyfriends that they didn't find him attractive, and muscles were a turn off
(3) Star Wars episodes 1, 2 & 3 don't seem quite as bad now.
Three worst things about Momomoman:
(1) Someone thought making this movie was a good idea.
(2) People think Jason Momomoman is a brilliant actor.
(3) Because so many people went to see it (once, because it was Christmas and people were bored, the movie made a lot of money.
When everyone sees a shit movie once, it does NOT mean it was a good movie.
(4) It was about 2h 22m too long.
(5) I will never recover the 3hrs I invested in the evening I saw this. 2h 22m sitting there + travel time and waiting to get popcorn.
(6) I have lost all respect for Ivan Drago & can never again watch Rocky 4
(7) People will now argue the merits of Momomoman, and point out that my list of the 3 worst things about Momomoman is 7 points long.
The one sad thing about Momomoman
(1) People's expectations for movies, entertainment/value are so low, they are conditioned to love & support shit movies because of group mentality & group acceptance.
Because they are conditioned to accept shit movies in the same way Edmonton Oiler fans are conditioned to keep paying to see the Oilers lose 9 in a row, then act like they won the Championship by going on a 1 game winning streak, movie goers will defend almost ANY movie they see.
I believe this is based on their need to defend, rationalize and justify the money they spent to see said shit movie, instead of facing an uncomfortable truth.
I saw Momomoman, and when people ask me about it, I tell them the truth. the popcorn was pretty good!

Good points! My biggest complaint was that it reads like a comic book; theres a lot of great visuals and action with fun one-liners, etc, but I dont get enough time to bond with any of the characters. The flashbacks were jarring and sometimes felt kinda random. Towards the end, I was still mentally backtracking to the beginning, trying to absorb the characters and their feelings. Even things like family dissonance, struggles with being biracial, or ocean pollution (topics I deeply care about btw) were so rushed that part of me was like, I feel like Im supposed to care about this, but why?
I think they just wanted to put more and more love and lore into Aquaman and his movie. Problem with that is it becomes cluttered and rushed. I bet that if they just saved, say, Black Manta for the sequel, and gave that time to flesh out everything else, itd not only flow better, Manta would feel less like a side note.
I did still enjoy the movie, and love this iteration of Aquaman. I hope that this and other issues get resolved in the sequel.

The dialogue though. Ugh. Stating and restating the obvious.
Also, I wished they didn't rush Aquaman and Mera's relationship. Some of the dialogue felt like a scene from horrible cliche romcom. Wished they focused more on Aquaman and his brother's difference and indifference of each other worlds and show their love and pain for their mother and her death -because both dealt with it in a very different way and I wished it was more acknowledged or was more delved into. If they did, I think that would've made for a better villain.
I have no comment for black manta except forge deserved better than what was put on screen.
Overall, Aquaman is an okay film for me but it's one of better live action films of DC for sure. FOR SURE. I hope they'll continue to better the DCEU because it deserves it.

How do Orm and Manta Dilute the plot? The plot is literally: Orm wants to wreak havoc on the surface world for all the crap that goes on that screws with the sea, plans on taking over all he can (Brine, Fisherman, Xebel) and then planning to start the war with all these guys with him, Aquaman retrieving the Trident is a huge counter to King Orm's plans, and he placed a tracker on Mera, which resulted in him knowing that they're going after something (he probably knew it was the trident) and sends Black Manta Atlantean armor and Commandos to stop Arthur and Mera from retrieving the trident and taking his place as king, thats literally the plot. Black Manta wasn't much of a villain he was just someone who was meant to intrigue you and then become a villain. No diluting here.

Disagree completely. Batman vs Superman was amazing. It was serious and showed what would happen when people of great power clash like Superman and Zod did. That opening scene was breathtaking. And while it did have some holes it was far and away one of the best superhero movies overall I've seen in the last decade. Only Winter Soldier can begin to compare. I wish there was less comedy and levity in these movies. Marvel is a complete joke at this point ( Ultron with lips. Right) and Justice League had too many jokes. These movies need to tKe themselves more seriously. I am hoping Zac comes back to fix this.

Momoa was a cool dude, sort of like that star jock player in high school, with a heavy helping of headbanger, rebel and some party guy in there. but gotta say-Amber Heard's baggage ruined it for me. I imagined Johnny Depp watching this movie, and as it progressed getting drunker, until he was throwing old socks, popcorn pieces, and eventually plates at his big flat screen. The kiss at the end? Yep, Johnny turned off his TV set and went to go read a book; not however after shooting the screen a nice, heartfelt bird.

Not to nitpick. but the communicating underwater wasnt officially established in justice league. mera has the power to control water. hence them being in a bubble. so that can easily be explained as not having time to explain this in justice league. and she has the power to do that. and that's why they talked in a bubble. so i dont see that a big negative toward the film. again i havent seen it yet. so i cant judge it yet. thats just an easy explanation to that inconsistency

I am truly in love with Aquaman and Jason Moama, I definitely feel like DC has found it's right rhythm and should focus on more solo heroes and new faces like Aquama n( instead of focusing on faces like supes and batman. And maybe have other heroes pop up as well like they did with Black Widow in the Winter Soldier. I also can't wait for 2019 with movies like Avengers 4 and Shazam( hopefully it can do just as well as Aquaman and Wonder Woman)

The movie was awesome. DC made a few bad movies in a row so when Aquaman came out everyone was already hyper critical. Every time a Marvel movie comes out no one is as critical. Aquaman was amazing and Wan managed to turn who everyone thought is just a useless fishman into an awesome superhero who in fact is my new fav one so 1 Aquaman is not as useless as you make him sound and 2 stop being so critical on DC movies.
