I could agree with it being a good decision to not show the monsters in this movie but I think that it wouldve been better to at least have anywhere from 1 to 3 or so camera shots showing just a glimpse of things like from behind shots that last a second or so, a quick camera shot of one of the quarter pieces of the monsters face or head, and/or perhaps a short 3 second scene where the monster walks into the shot and stops (or slowly walks by the camera without stopping) but only showing the bottom half of the creature, with focus on the hands, possibly swaying as it walks by/through! (maybe even a quick zoom-in of the hand showing nails and/or certain skin features.
Idk, just my humble opinion guys!

There could be a fine line between scary and funny. But if you made the creatures looking convincingly scary, it would've succeeded. As long as you didn't make them act comical it would've been fine. We know they have some powers that make people go insane and suicidal. The premise was excellent, but it has to be backed by science since I think more people nowadays know that the 'supernatural' is total bs or we'd see evidence of it. So if they made them into colonizing, terrifying aliens, along the likes of Tom Cruise's War of the Worlds, but more sinister it would've worked.

The imagination is a potent tool for envisioning the most horrific beings to stalk humankind, but the most horrific is fear on not the unknown, but the unknowable. This is the essence of cosmic horror, the hopelessness and despair of knowing that what lurks in the vast spaces between realities is so unknowable and unfathomable that humanity has not a hope or a prayer of resisting these things, that the only thing to be done is to fall on one's knees and accept what's coming.

I would have preferred they had shown the creatures, but only if they could actually come up with a decent design. That just looked dumb, lame, and bland. It would have honestly ruined the movie had they kept it in. It's better to have them invisible, than lame. At least we could get a general glimpse into what the creatures looked like with the sketches one of the cultists drew. Had the creature looked like one of those in the dream scene, that would have been perfectly fine.

In the book, the entities that did this were intangible, meaning that a manifestation of a physical humanoid creature would have been going in the wrong direction. Lydia calls out to her mother who had been dead 10 years. This story closely resembles The Happening in which its implied that Spores make people instantly suicidal. If they had been tangible creatures, they wouldn't have required Wind to move around, hence their inability to enter indoor areas.

I think it's not right to make a monster that portrays the monster in Bird box because why would a person commit suicide after seeing someone like that who looks like an upset toddler hahaha it's already explained that what the people see are their worst fear and what makes them so sad that makes them kill themselves

I don't get it. Are they supposed to be demons like Spirits? That's what it seems like to me. I don't see them as being these little creatures. I mean they are invisible and they can inhabit your body and make you do things.
