Superman Cameo Confirmed For Shazam! Is Not What You Think The: They should have based Ben Affleck's Bat-Man after Christopher Bell's Bat-Man. If they did this we wouldn't have needed any backstory for him and they could have focused more on Superman and Lex. Also I feel like the guy who played Yellow Jacket in Antman would have been a decent Lex and way better than Jesse. I'd probably make Lex the president and have him push the people into believing Superman is evil. I'd also change Batman's motivation to go after Superman. I'd make Lex find out who Bat-Man is. He then would kill Alfred and frame Superman, saying he died because of Superman's reckless behavior. This would give Bat-Man enough reason to come out of retirement to put a stop to Superman. Long story short Bat-Man and Robin ( the cop guy from dark knight rises) would fight Superman thinking he's a bad guy until Lois shows up with proof that Lex killed Alfred. They would then go to Lexcorp and fight Lex ( wearing his battle armor) Robin would die setting him up to become red hood. And Superman would live and go on to fight Doomsday in man of steel 2

My theory is that the whole Cavill/Superman controversy is just a tactic employed by WB for two reasons:
1. Test the the general audience response to the idea of Henry Cavill leaving the role, for a year or so, and:
2. If the fans still want him in, shoot a small cameo in Shazam! last minute. If the general opinion is anti-Cavill, then recast, because a Justice League 2 needs to happen. Darkseid is still out there, and he's pissed off!
Meanwhile they're making films like Aquaman and WW84 that bring in a nice profit, and give characterization to the Justice League heroes (something they should have done from the very beginning, Marvel style. It's a smart strategy that gives WB enough time to get their cinematic universe under control and figure out a proper course for it.
My opinion is that the public still likes Cavill as Superman, and he will appear in further DCEU movies.

All this is BS, Cavill loves playing supes. Even Jason mamoa said that cavill loves the role and isnt going anywhere. Thing is after the success of mission impossible, Cavill has a lot more power and is tired of them wrecking the character and wants script approval and a sequel to man of steel and not just cameos in other peoples movies. Cant blame him in the slightest. I think the rumours about him leaving was DC testing the water to see how the fans would react to him leaving.
Great to see DC moving in the right direction finally. I still cant work out why they made justice league without doing any world building. After the flash and green lantern movies would of been the time for justice league imo.

Cavil has never said he does not want to play Superman anymore. That's his cash cow. He's been busy as an actor on other movies and the Witcher, but his maximum exposure and paychecks are with Superman. Ben Affleck is a completely different story. He's an active director, he just dealt with getting out of rehab, a divorce and depression. The Sadfleck thing really hurt his feelings. He lost confidence in himself and wanted out. I am not sure if he wants out anymore, but DC has to cast a younger Batman. Batman is not in his mid 40s. He's the same age as Superman, a couple of years older normally.

hopefully Cavill stays Superman. He's perfect for the part, if only they could get a really good movie made. In their mad rush to match Marvel they totally overlooked what made Marvel the juggernaut it is. the solo movies that told the origins of each character of the core characters, to give audiences a chance to care about their fate. If they just took another 2 years to get everyone's standalone movies made, they would have figured out what the audience (comic fans and casual viewers) likes and dislikes And what scenarios to run with.

I already dont like how Ben Affleck dropped out of playing Batman after hes already appeared in 3 DCEU movies, not Cavill too Like, if they dont wanna play a role anymore thats fine, but its just so frustrating to have a movie take place in the same universe with suddenly a different actor.
Then again, the switch in Dumbledore during the Harry Potter movies never bothered me either. I guess well see lmao

It's probably for the best that Henry Caville leaves. I'm not knocking him as an actor, but I think Warner Bros. was really holding him back with all their mistakes with Superman. Besides, having him will just remind people too much of the godawful Batman v. Superman and Justice League movies.
It's time that the DCEU starts over fresh, and having a new Superman is a good way to start.

I really hope cavil is still Superman. I know a lot of people havent liked the DC movies, but I liked them. I mean maybe some movies arent my favorite, but Im grateful for any super hero movies. I liked the old shitty Batmans no one likes and both the hulk movies. I dont care for that newer fantastic 4 but I dont hate it. I liked cavil and affleck

Lmao smh Shazam will be one of the worst superhero movies of all time, I'll bet money on that. He just looks too fake, who ever that guy is he just looks too goofy, those fake muscles dont match his neck and face, so unfortunately no matter how good the plot and action is this movie cannot be successful if he doesn't look the part lmao

WARNING THIS IS FALSE NEWS Cavill is not at all uninterested in returning to the role. He stated in an interview which took place after the release of Justice League that he felt like he needed to make a man of steel sequel, Henry Cavill is still the DCEU Superman. If supes is to make a cameo it will definitely be Cavill.
