People give his writing a lot of crap but I think in some of his movies the dialogue is a lot more realistic than what people give it credit for. In other films it's like the characters know exactly what to say and it is always precise and accurate and honestly just sounds like lines that the actors memorized, while with M's movies at a glance the dialogue does sound cringey and out of place but in real life how often do we say stuff that in our minds makes sense but when we say it it's just eeeeehhhhh? Or how often is it that in real life when we are with a bunch of other people and discussing a serious situation that we finish each other's sentences like in stranger things (no shade) l

Unbreakable is actually my favorite. Yes, The Sixth Sense is great even without the famous twist, but its an inspiring tale (as well as a superhero movie in disguise. Signs is a great movie overall, even if the ending doesnt completely add up (and no, Im not talking about the Water. Believe it or not, I also like The Village as well, because if treated as a period piece romance, you can appreciate it more. in spite of its many flaws. Split was also a cleverly disguised superhero movie, but the actual story presented therein has no payoff.

I actually dont hate this list. I disagree with some of it, but overall, I like the direction it takes.
I do agree that The Village is highly underrated.
I dont agree that Signs isnt in the top 5. Its like my father said after he saw it, if you had told me there would be an alien invasion movie that barely shows the aliens, takes place almost entirely in a house, and focuses more on a family than the aliens, I wouldnt have thought itd be a brilliant film. But M. NIGHT!

I agree that Unbreakable is good but I remember being bored. The village is not just his most underrated movie, is the most underrated movie in the industry. Movies like The Room are getting movies to show how these pieces of shit were made while The Village is still generally left out by both critics and people alike. Signs is pretty good but Sixth Sense definitely deserved the first place.

Arent they all pretty shitty, except unbreakable, Signs, and The Sixth Sense? He must know where all the bodies are buried - no other director with so many bombs would get that many chances to keep directing well-funded, well cast films. Hes a half-baked fluke & nothing more. Wish he would retire and let a real talent have a shot instead of trying to convince himself he actually can direct.

I thought the ending to SIGNS was perfect. I cant imagine how you could weave it all together any other way. I noticed a few I havent seen so Ill have to go back and find them. I think M. N. S. is great and love how he puts a story together. I will admit that he isnt the best actor but there are a lot worse than he is who have gained celeb. status for doing much worse work.

I felt Glass should have been placed higher on the good side, but otherwise I agree with the list.
I felt that the concepts of After Earth and The Happening were great, but I felt if the actors gave a shit the films would have been better.
Also Glass is a lot better than what the critics say.
