We Now Understand The Ending Of Dexter Brian: My understanding of the end: Throughout the show, Dexter is attempting to live a normal life, and blend in. Part of his attempt to do so involves him trying to mask emotions so people do not suspect anything of him. However, as the story progresses, Dexter actually begins to develop real, raw human emotion (i. e. his love for Debra, Harrison, Hannah, or his sadness over his fathers death, etc. The tipping point for the whole show is when Deb is in the hospital. This is where Dexter realizes that her death is his fault, and instead of trying to simply run away, he realizes that he actually feels guilt and remorse. Its this guilt and sorrow that ultimately leads himself to live alone in a world of self-condemnation, disgust, and silence--the Lumberjack Dexter as described in this video. He no longer feels the need to kill as he sees the same horror that led his father to suicide. Thus, there is no voice inside his head that typically narrates the show. He lives away from his family and in total solitude.

He left the family because he will always be hunted and they were not safe.
Did he stop killing? MAYBE. The TV Dexter is a lot different from the book Dexter.
In the show Dexter became more human as time went on, so yes, the urge to kill might be gone.
Or he might simply be able to survive on memories.

I couldn't stand this show mid way into the 3rd season I quit watching it cause it was pissing me off. Never a show I have yelled at more then this bad writing catastrophe. I couldn't stand the sister and his wife and what his older brother who was in the show for 3 episode. . Dextar was terrable

you know what wouldve been better? if in season two, Dexter successfully framed Doakes, causing him to serve time in prison then in later seasons LaGuerta figures it out and Doakes is released as the last season is about Them actually trying to catch him. IDK. SOUNDS ANXIETY FILLED

This video sucked completely. You think the entire video they are going to go into a theory on what happens to lumber jack dexter as the title suggests but instead its just a long drawn out back of a DVD cover summary of the show. Looper sucks

So many questions were nit answered for the Police, who was the bay harbor killer, who killed Laguerta, Trinity, imagine what an end it would be if they found out dexter was behind all this. And then he died on the electric chair

As to basically avoid what everyone else said bc it would just be me regurgitating it, do murders and rapists and such not target men? Are men safe in the world already or did you just not want to mention men? 2: 38

People, what the hell did you expect would happen. This series couldn't have ended in other way. It was appropriate. If you are so sure the ending sucked, then tell me what the alternative was?

Terrible ending. Would have much rather seen dexter finally get caught for being the bay harbor butcher and framing everyone. Then maybe execute him in the final episode.

Might as well have started this with previously on Dexter since all you did was talk about the show as opposed to explain the ending which is what the title suggests
