Sorry, Y'all, but I have to agree with the first reviewer. There are a lot of cult classics that deserve that title, but not this one. It is, by far, the worst job of acting ever done by Pacino. His accent for this film is just silly. It's the worst Latino accent I've ever heard & not believable at all. That really surprised me! The level of violence, aside from being so overly gratuitous(as many De Palma films are, is poorly done & gets to be boring. Now, remember, this is my opinion, as we are all entitled to!
As far as films like this go toward benefiting mankind, they could all never have been made & the world would never miss them.

Brian DePalma actually worked on Prince of the City while Sidney Lumet was working on Scarface. For some reason Lumet left the project and ended up directing Prince of the City while DePalma directed Scarface. I can understand the initial poor reviews. I didn't get it the first time I watched it either. You really have to let go to enjoy it.

In my 20's I thought this movie was wild. In my 50's I absolutely hated it. The violence was bad enough, but realizing that all the people who starred were Italian and the one Latino was killed off early messed with my sensibilities. When you think about it, it didn't age well.

First I thought that Al Pacino was horrible for that role I mean his Cuban accent was overly exaggerated. I would've went with someone like Ricardo Montelban as Tony Montana. Second Scarface is known as a tragedy whenever the protagonist meets their demise it's a tragedy.

Love this movie, my only criticism is that most of the actors were not Cuban, in fact I think the only Cuban actor in this is Steven Bauer, even though this is a movie about Cuban organized crime in Miami

I really hope they DON'T make a remake.
You can't beat a perfect masterpiece!
Who's gonna beat Pacino's performance!
I hope it's the last time you gonna see a bad guy like him.

Yeah, no. The movie was a classic well before the rap artists ever discovered it, and their veneration of the movie shows they miss the point of the story entirely.

Unpopular opinion: This movie is probably the most overrated of all time. How come no one addresses the incestuous relationship he had with his sister? Creepy, man.
