They left it open to the police having 3-4 seperate people with enough motive to kill Kevin Spacey. The wife, father of janes bf, janes friend and of course jane and her bf If they left all those tapes laying around.
Now we can only sit and wonder what happened and who took the actual blame for his death.
It was an absolutely genius ending in my opinion. I love that movie. One of my favourite.

Kevin Smith actually premiered Clerks with the murder ending, it was a producer in the audience at one of the first screenings that made the suggestion that ultimately led to cutting it back and leaving out the killing. Cast members may have expressed their views but according to the book An Askew View it was Robert Hawk that was the impactful voice.

Why is he so anal about not letting people see the true ending of Terminator 2: Judgment Day? The movie is like 10 mins longer the ending where she does drive and talk about how the war is over but is never going to be over for her. Any copy have it? I did buy T2 Full ver that sates it has everything but it was a lie. Any copy with?

American Beauty doesn't end where the movie ends. You still have the daughter and her boyfriend fleeing the scene of the crime and the video recording. What are the chances of finding a motive for the guilty one? I watched the movie in an ex-USSR republic back in 2000 so it was translated into Russian - even the song American Woman.

First. James Cameron had nothing to do with the sequels. 2nd, the ending as filmed references the playground images all through the film. Only her and John know of the other way it might have turned out and this gives closure. It was the studio execs who insisted on the change for the potential sequels.

You forgot Ferris Buellers Day Off. The film was universally hated by test audiences. Then they cut one line, about how, if she wanted to, a girl could trick a guy into taking care of her by getting pregnant. And, The film went from something audience despised do something audience is loved.

Not only does that T-2 ending not fit the tone, its ridiculous. There is no way John could become anything. He would have been lucky to escape incarceration until he was 18, and Sarah would be on death row as an accessory to all the murders committed by the T-1000!

No mention of Chris Farley recording alot of the pre-production Shrek before Mike Myers, which was in Chris Farleys standard American voice. probably why they tried Myers exaggerated own Canadian voice. All in all, it turned out great.
