It's incredibly complicated, and it includes stuff that only happens in the Japanese portion of the Original series (which fun fact, does include Robots in Disguise 2001, don't ask, and of course the fact, that each portion of the franchise has their own origin story, mostly involving Primus and Unicron, like the G1 cartoon had the characters made by the Quintessons, and Animated, since the people behind it originally never liked the Primus mythos, has the characters created by The Allspark, akin to the 2007 movie (which in Japan, the series was marketed as a prequel to, the actual show itself was the exact same, just that Bulkhead was renamed as Ironhide, while the actual Ironhide was renamed as Armorhide)
