It absolutely sucks that he got this bad news Alzheimer s disease is a truly terrible disease that forces people undergo horrific deterioration of the brain and its ability to function. I had a relative who had dementia and it was saddening heartbreaking to watch them go through the various stages of the disease. But I feel like this gives me a bad feeling. I mean understand that news would shocking and give you pause. But it feels like more of a situation where he probably has been experiencing some burnout in regards to acting. The man has over 45 acting projects and has been working very consistently since the early 2010 s.
I just wish everybody would stop framing it as if he has the disease already. I mean yes, you can develop Alzheimer s disease at early age but that s extremely rare and highly unlikely, even if the gene runs in your family. Furthermore, Chris is only 39 and Alzheimer s usually doesn t manifest until 65 typically so that means even if he did get it, he still has a good 26 to 30 years before he starts having symptoms. As someone who has a relative who has an extremely rare form of cancer and has to watch them struggle through it, it feels kind of disingenuous for people to be framing as if he has the disease already or that he will inevitably get the disease and that he doesn t know how much time he has left.
Nobody knows how much time they have left and this is not me standing on a soapbox it s just me being kind of irritating with the framing of it. I sympathize with him getting the bad news and it must be hard to process, but it still feels disingenuous to me. Not the news itself just the handling and framing of why he s going into retirement or on hiatus. If you want to spend time with your family or whatever that s fine, but don t use this as a scapegoat and don t try to act like you re spreading awareness, because it just comes off as talking down to people. I m not saying that he s a bad person in any sense. Although I am painfully aware that there is no cure for it currently. But I m just saying that even if he does get the disease he ll have more money than most people do not only fight the disease get early medication / treatment (which you can get now to stave off of the effects of the disease) and to take care of his family so he just feels a little weird to me. That s all I m saying.

Well, being a millionaire and taking a break is a lot easier than us little people that require to pay bills.
Now no disrespect to Chris Hemsworth, the man did work hard to be where he is at today and is a awesome actor. I wish him well and also that its great to take the time to be with his family and take care of himself.

I get what he's saying by far. Also, it would be an honor to me for my children to watch my talent at the same time. It would live forever because not many have that special opportunity. It's a tuff issue in his shoes. We have a roll to live and live it as you must. But, your legacy will live forever.

But by taking a break from acting he s further exposing himself to developing it. You get it worse by not using your brain in every day Life lmao. It s a degenerative brain stimulus disease isn t it? You need to keep active mate

Surely if this is a genetic condition of his then both of his brothers, Luke and Liam, would also be susceptible to it, wouldn't they? If that's the case then good luck to all three of them in combating that horrendous disease.

I would never want to take a test like that. Alzheimer can show up much later in his life or maybe not at all. However, now he will live with this on his mind. The stress and worry wouldn't be worth it to me.

The world is heading towards a depression because of the economic destruction from the pandemic, Right now venturing into stocks would be best to recover from this global inflation and stay afloat.

I love Chris Hemsworth and I only wish the best for him. My mom passed away from alzheimers and it's a dreadful disease. I hope he doesn't get it.
